SHOPPERS are happier with Singapore's retail sector, giving it a higher customer satisfaction score for the second year straight.
Overall, satisfaction level improved by 2.4 points to 70.6 points this year, the highest score attained by the industry since 2007, when the Customer Satisfaction Index was launched.
Within the retail sector, customers were also more upbeat about these sub-sectors: motor vehicles jewellery stores, fashion apparels, furniture stores and supermarkets.
The latest quarterly results was released by the Institute of Service Excellence (ISES) of the Singapore Management University on Wednesday.
Ms Caroline Lim, ISES's director, said one reason for the improved score was that companies were now monitoring the index closely, 'benchmarking their performance against competitors and effecting changes to outdo each other'.
The figures for the info-communication sector were also released on Wednesday, but these showed no significant change.
