Tin Pei Ling's Cooling-off Day 'comment': pursue or not?
SINGAPORE: National Solidarity Party's (NSP) Nicole Seah told reporters on Sunday that the party has not made a decision on whether to further pursue a potential violation by the People's Action Party's (PAP) Tin Pei Ling, on Cooling-off Day.
The NSP reported that Ms Tin could have breached Cooling-off Day regulations with a Facebook post.
Cooling-off Day -- observed on the eve of Polling Day -- was proposed in 2009 by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
Candidates are not allowed to campaign on this day.
On May 6, the eve of the 2011 General Election, a post appeared on Ms Tin's Facebook page.
The post was apparently a reply to an earlier Facebook comment made on May 5, by Ms Tin.
Netizens who spotted the May 6 post then circulated a screen capture of Ms Tin's Facebook page.
The comment, however, was removed within 20 minutes.
When
contacted by Channel NewsAsia on May 6, Ms Tin said she was alerted to
the post by her friends, adding that it was inadvertently made by Ms
Denise He, one of Ms Tin's administrators.
Ms He had apparently
commented on Ms Tin's Facebook page using a mobile phone, without
realising that she was actually logged in as 'Ms Tin'.
Commenting
on whether NSP would pursue the matter, Ms Seah said: "From my
knowledge, we went through the actual process (of filing a complaint)
and we did not get any results out of it -- no conclusion, no progress,
so I think we do recognise it is an uphill battle to get any results out
of this.
"And we are being very realistic here, so that's why I say I would rather devote my time and resources to the residents".

NSP is definitely not going to pursue, wasting their time. We all know ED is not gonna act on it. If they do, I strike 4D this wednesday.

Hanor, waste time pursuing when you know already know that nothing will happen.
post edited due to advertising..
One more thing to note, the elections department is under the PM's office, which is handled by the private secretary to the PM, which also happens to be under Mr TPL.
xia lan
whole nation 唱衰她 and she still hanging around
yah $16K is too appealing to not grab
if her unpopularity persists, this would aggravate the party's image eventually..hence, her political lifespan could be short, if the party is wise to listen to ground's grievances...
Singaporeans will eventually forget her existence, and her misdeeds, just watch. Our national media just has to put a spotlight on something else. How many people still remember who Durai is?
Durai that motherfucker who siphoned NKF donation $$$ away!!!
Just when you think Tin Pei Ling cannot get any worst , think within less then 2mth - she totally redefine and set new standard to the following words :
1) bimbo
2) brainless
3) childish
4) clown
5) Boomz
God is alway fair - he put a clown - chee on opposition, he also put a clown Pei Ling in PAP.
Yeap PAP finally have a world class - bimbo !!!
Since election over hopefully she finally bring her parent to Universal studio ..... before the next election , if not she will regret again !!! Give the girl her boomz award !!!
I wonder what happened to the stringent PAP selection panel? who did she pass the interview by so many panels one? cronyism at play, u bet, her hubby is PM Lee private secretarial.
Sorry to be a bummer guys, but seems like Nicole is equally as guilty as TPL.
了了之........
no wonder PAP is so admadant about putting TPL despite the complaints. Now i know.
Police report lodged against Tin Pei Ling over cooling-off day complaint
SINGAPORE : Police have confirmed that a report has been lodged against the MP for Marine Parade Group Representation Constituency (GRC), Ms Tin Pei Ling, for allegedly violating "cooling-off day" guidelines.
The reply from police was given to Channel NewsAsia after it received information on Monday that a member of the public had filed a complaint against the MP.
On Polling Day, the
National Solidarity Party's (NSP) Nicole Seah had approached the
Elections Department about the matter, but Ms Seah was directed to
channel her queries to the Police.
Channel NewsAsia understands the complaint about this issue now seems to have been made by a member of the public.
The
complaint was over the posting on May 5, when Ms Tin's Facebook page
carried a "clarification" on reports that a MacPherson resident had been
refused help for her child's tuition fees.
The resident had
asked for a refund, but on May 6, which was cooling-off day, netizens
circulated a screen capture that showed a reply posted on Ms Tin's
Facebook.
Ms Tin's facebook page clarification had said:
"OooOoooOooh so that's what REALLY happened? Wow. I think tears in
Parliament is worse than ANYTHING ELSE!"
The comment was however removed within 20 minutes.
When
contacted, Ms Tin told Channel NewsAsia on cooling-off day that she was
alerted to the comment when some of her friends called her shortly
after it was posted.
Ms Tin had said she found out it was one of her administrators, Ms Denise He, who had mistakenly made the post.
She said she asked her administrator to remove the comment immediately.
Her administrators help to upload photos of her walkabouts on her Facebook page.

Apparently there are people more traumatised by this event than nicole seah. Whatever the case, nothing's gonna happen.

This news is shown on T.V. I believe PAP knows how unpopular Tin Pei Ling is and is a threat to their 'new image'. PAP may use this opportunity to dismiss Tin Pei Ling as no matter what, the Facebook account is still hers, though posting was done by that 'Denise He'. Even if she is dismissed, she will not feel too pai seh as the 'culprit' is Denise , not her. Better way for Tin Pei Ling to make an exit.
aiyo....still no end ar..............
厚脸皮æ»èµ–ä¸èµ°
Why not let her do her ground work and see whether she can perform or not.
Same goes to NSeah.
Time will tell everything.
anyone felt kena played out by GCT?
