The Foreign Minister observed that the run-up to Saturday's polls has surfaced a level of anger and resentment towards the government and the PAP, which he said cannot be ignored.
And if elected, Mr Yeo, who leads the PAP team in the fiercely-battled Aljunied GRC, pledged that he and his team-mates would be 'advocates of reform' within the party, the government and the Cabinet.
In an interview with The Straits Times and Chinese-language daily Lianhe Zaobao on Thursday morning, Mr Yeo, whose team is facing off the Workers' Party 'A' slate led by Mr Low Thia Khiang, acknowledged that 'there is considerable resentment against the government and its policies, and some of them run deep'.
It is this emotional undertone that the WP team in Aljunied GRC has managed to tap into, he thinks. 'In that regard, the WP provides a loudspeaker for those who are frustrated, resentful and angry,' said Mr Yeo.
'This is a struggle for the soul of Singapore.'

Last week claimed he know the ground and people well. Now admits he was clueless. And we pay him millions?

They are just a bunch of paper office bearers who rely on their runners to perform their job.
Of course, the runners will paint a rosy picture of the ground as they know their master cannot accept or handle the true sentiments.
They are also worried that their angry boss will reduced their bonus if they tell the boss the truth.
That is the "track record" of paying millions to some individuals.

But, it is too late to regret and repent.
You should have done it last decade when you are in office.
So, what are you going to do about it ?

Seriously, george yeo cant be compared to Low TK, sylvia lim. needless to say, he is nothing compared with Chen show mao. There's no point putting him in parliament when WP can provide 3 times better voice than he can.
my view - one party is bad. If the leader makes a wrong mistake, it can be very costly. Too much power concentrated on one party is bad as well. Power, if wrongly abused, can be very deadly. No dynasty lasts forever. Only true democracy lasts. PAP, being the ruling party, needs to have the heart to embrace alternative views from other parties, instead of rejecting alternative views right on the spot and claim they are always right. Who talk sense and who didn't talk sense, citizens can judge.

To be a minister receiving a salary of $6000 - $10,000/day, he will promise everything others want hear to get their votes. With the sharp edge of a knife from angry voters, pointing at his throat, he is more agreeable to say what the others want to hear to get their votes.
The Million dollar pays must be more important than basic principles and morality - sad for my country Singapore!
