EVER since 2005, after her marriage to a man twice her age ended, a woman has made repeated attempts to get a $250,000 payout for their autistic son.
Her attempts did not stop even after her former husband died in 2009, leaving behind $10,000 for the boy, who was then 11 years old, and $5,000 for her.
Her latest move, suing his daughters from his first marriage to seek payment from his estate, failed when the High Court rejected her application last November.
The woman, now 47, has filed an appeal against the decision. The parties in the case cannot be named.
In a written judgment of the decision last November that was published on the Supreme Court website last week, Justice Belinda Ang noted that the application, under the Inheritance (Family Provision) Act, was the latest in a history of litigation.
She noted that the woman's constant gripe has been that the man had given the $2.7 million from the sale of a property to his daughters but nothing to her and their son.
