A Secondary three student swung his fist at his mathematics teacher in full view of the class.
The boy's father said that his son only used "20 per cent of his strength", and was unhappy that the school had made a police report.
The principal of the school in Geylang confirmed the incident. She said that their police liaison officer had advised the school to make the report but they have not pressed charges.
Read The New Paper today (April 29) for the full report.
wa laoz eh
20%??
assault is assault
How did he know it was 20%?
Did he use a digital force gauge to properly quantify the full strength of the force of the kid's punches and extrapolate from there?
Damnit lah. For being an imbecile, I say the father should be charged along with his son.
This kind of father produce spoil brats like his son.
The son should be punish serverely
the school has not pressed charges...maybe the teacher deserved to be punched?...haha
the boy should be punished regardless of if he is right or wrong ...
the teacher respect by society must never be violated .
last time when my teacher maling me , i keep quiet ,during the recess ,i ask the teacher for forgiveness and pointed she make a mistake .
by punching a teacher , the society punches back a hooligan student harder
Please remember the boomerang theory ,if you violated society basic rules , you will suffer basic disrespect in future
What if the boy was a decendant of Thor? 20% is tantamount to shifting our galaxy out of our errrr galaxy.
nice
20% of str
i didnt knw that his father is god
Nowadays kids are like that. What to say?Their parents are too overprotective and don't dare to let their kids suffer a bit.

For saying that, you deserve to be charged along with the father and the son.
If the teacher really did something wrong, then by all means file a complaint with the school or the MOE. There is such a thing as using the proper channels, you know.
If you want to behave like Batman and turn into a vigilante, then you deserve to be locked up in jail.
And if you choose to support such vigilantism (which may not even be the case here), then yeah, you deserve to be locked up as well.
obviously the father also the jialat type.
does he think his son deserves credit for using only 20% strength?
if the stupid father don't let the school handle this, the society will eventually have to handle this years later with jail time and rotan...
If the student is in the wrong, I think the student should be caned. That was what was done in the past.
If one punches someone, he will be charge with causing hurt no matter who is right or who is wrong.
I am sadden to hear that his father said that 20% of strength. His father should know that punching a teacher is a very serious offence and can warrant a explusion from school.
If the student apologise and feel remorseful, then the school might give him a second chance.
hahaha...no lah...anyway, i am not sure if caning is still permitted nowadays...but during my time, sure kerna caning and suspension from school...
this vindicates my view that some people should not be allowed to breed
This father is serving a very poor example for his son. Like father like son. Son see father act cocky and rash, he also follow.
Both should be criticised.
so they are like mosquitoes? haha

Now you never act rashly, you think being acting. This is due to the strict discipline cultivated since young.
If he no repent, put him in the boys home.

He should also be caned.
shows the failure of his family values.. his parents didn't impart any, and his grandparents didn't impart any to his father either...
all in all, a very disgraceful episode... for the boy, his father and everyone who is related to them...
His father is more disgraceful than his son for his remarks.
Yes, if you are one of his relatives reading this, dont you feel shameful for the family?
Btw, we only hear one side of the story, maybe we should hear what the boy want to say and why he punch his teacher??
well, often in life we dont get to hear both sides of the story...newspapers do not always report both sides of the story too...tats why we have so much resentment, bitterness and unfairness in this world...ppl often judge based on one-side of the story leaving one or more parties being unfairly judged...
Seriously, I can see why the son ended up being so messed up. It's because his father is just as messed up, probably more.
The strength of the punch means nothing. Punching a teacher is a serious offence, period. The father's logic is like saying that no murder is being committed if you use a pistol instead of an AK-47 to shoot someone in the head.
In my time, the kid would have been caned on stage in front of the whole school. Expelled, even.
I sound like an old man when I say that. Which is sad, considering that I'm only 28 this year.
