I believe that it's ADVISABLE for single men and women to have at least one terrible relationship where they get treated like smegma (that's dick dirt for you squeamish). This serves to teach you how to appreciate someone who's good for you.
Unless, of course, you're into the whole 'treat me like foreskin cheese' sorta thing. Then more power to you.
