Arsenal and Chelsea target Philippe Mexes has still not ruled out a summer move to the Premier League.
It has been reported that the two English clubs are on a long list of sides across Europe who are keen on snapping up the France international on a free transfer when his contract expires in June.
Central defender Mexes was thought to be on the verge of penning a new four-year deal which would keep him at Roma until the end of his career.
But the 28-year-old has decided not to make a decision on his future until the summer.
“I have many offers, but I will not decide my future until the season ends,” he said.
“Right now, I could go to any of the major leagues in the world, but I have to evaluate many things when I make my decision.”

Philippe Mexes is a player who has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal and now that such a move could be completed for nothing the chances of Arsene Wenger being interested have seemingly increased dramatically. The 28 year old centre back may be just the player the Gunners boss is looking for as he searches for more stability at the back.
Poor form shown by Sebastien Squillaci may appear to prove that he was a poor purchase and Laurent Koscielny has also been woefully inconsistent and prone to mindless challenges and poor positional awareness. Thomas Vermaelen’s absence has heaped pressure on youngster Johan Djourou who has made great strides this season but the North London club still need more strength in depth and Mexes would give them that.
The Toulouse born defender has spent seven years at Roma and it could be that the French international is merely holding out for a better deal or waiting to see how their season pans out and indeed whether Vincenzo Montella will continue as the club’s boss beyond this term, before he makes his mind up about a potential move from the Italian capital.
