Just came back from Nikko. Some new models available:

For those who missed out on Lamborghini Gallardo, they brought in some black & orange ones, limited stock.

I just got back from there... Gallardo sold out already... both black and orange ones... Skyline in midnight purple left one or two... and the skyline police car left two... Take note... Prices went up again... The skylines are S$188 and the Gallardos are S$158...

yeah...the new shipment's quite a disappointment though...alot of new models they dint bring in...

I woneder why Nikko cannot bring in new models as asson as they are released by the manufacturers. It's not good when we see new models available on ebay when we have to wait for a long time for Nikko to bring them into Singapore.
I would rather let them earn the "shipping costs" that I would have to pay to a ebay vendor. -
Ya, assortment is very disappointing indeed, so can save up some money this month. Nikko is not a very effective distributor in this sense, as we are being deprived of many of the latest models. Their mark-up is ridiculously high, so even after member discount prices are about the same or even slightly higher than in other countries.

all ur qns will somehow be ans when u think in terms of business mindset from nikko point of view.
Singapore is somehow 1 of the last countries to get the new stocks...

The new stock can only come in after the Nikko sale is over mah. That's how they earn your money.

well its true that they would only bring new stocks in after the sale. however you also have to consider the time it takes to ship these in from china. most of those models you see on ebay are probably from hkor other places close to china and probably not to be found in places like the states. a little wait is to be expected. that said im kinda disappointed that the 911 gt3 road car and the porsche lmp which have already been released in europe are not here yet. all in all, i would say nikko provides a mixed bag, sometimes we are the first to get certain models like the f40 and the pink pig gt3rsr.

I just wish that there are more model car retailers in Singapore - better for us collectors.
I have this impression that HK is better. I bet they get the latest releases sooner and prices are cheaper too. You will see that many of the Asian vendors on ebay are from HK.
Having said that, I think the collectors market in Singapore is small and probably cannot support too many retailers here. The funny thing is that there is some demand from people like us who want to get the latest models but by their inaction, they are letting this demand be met by overseas vendors and to some extent, 1/1 scale car agents. -
I agree that the collector's market is really small... Look at Nikko... they can't even clear their old stock... so many old pieces lying around... and sometimes, even the newer ones aren't cleared as fast... I guess thats y nikko is being quite selective in the models they are willing to bring in, as well as the quantity to bring in... Too many, and they will be saddled with stagnant stock... too little, and they might lose customers... And with the recent slight increase in price, it doesn't really work in their favour too... Maybe Nikko could learn a thing or two from the Tamiya distributor. No doubt company name changed from Hua Hua to Taising and now Stargek, but its always the same person running behind the show.

Ya, I also think they hold back the shipment due to the earlier promotion.
The most unbearable thing is that their free car promotion is still tagged at $180, but after the price hike most models are >$188. Ended up the free car we can get are those $155 ones, really not fair... Sigh, this trip to wheel lock cost me 1.5k. Things are getting expensive... -
