單刀法 (Dan Dao Fa Xuan) is an ancient 400-year-old Chinese sword manual written
during the Ming Dynasty when China faced an invasion from the Japanese
pirates.
The art of the Chinese Long-Saber is documented in this ancient
manual, however it is no longer in practice. Using previous martial arts
experience, the Instructor will teach from the ancient manual itself to bring
these ancient sword techniques back to life from the Ming
Dynasty.
Students will each be given a photocopy of the ancient manual
itself, and be taught to read and interpret classical Chinese, so as to fully
appreciate this ancient Chinese manual, the art of Chinese Long-Saber, and the
history of Japanese pirate invasion during the Ming-Dynasty.

The Chinese Long-Saber, Miao Dao, is not rather rare weapon and not readily found in Singapore. You can buy from overseas: http://www.little-raven.com/RS/MA/Do.html (scroll down all the way). Or we can use a regular Bokken or Jo.
