I taught that Jet Li, Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan. Learn Martial Arts first, won competitions (Although not sure on Jackie Chan). Before they became like Stuntmans or actors.
It's not about which Martial Art. It's about the one who practises it. & whether the art you learn is suitable for you to bring it to your own self limit. Wing Chun may or may not be suitable for you. I've learned Ashihara Karate during my secondary school days. My Sensei also taught us lessons beyond the syllabus such as arm locks & weapon training such as bo. It is about expounding the various forms & creating your own form.
That is how Bruce Lee created Jeet Kune Do by incorporating modern day physics of Western boxing & the practicality of Karate into the swift counterattacking techniques of Wing Chun.
There are hundreds of schools just by Chinese Martial Art alone. Just by Tai Chi Quan alone, there are the modern day Yang style & the more traditional Chen style.
Man you guys got the whole concept wrong man. Martial arts is a tool for you to use as a last resort. Not something to flaunt about. The best martial art is the one which you master well, and save your life. Nothing else matters.
Are you sure the best martial art exponents can be faster than a bullet?
Don't think so.
A gun is the best.

damo came to china and spreaded buddhism to shaolin. It's also said he's the founder of shaolin. this is why they've buddhist sutras in their big libraries. most of shaolin's martial arts were later derived from the animals (observe the animals and nature, and invent fist styles to follow it).
bruce lee isn't a real kungfu fighter : he's an actor who knows kungfu. There's a difference.
the films and movies just over-hype him and he's became a legend when he's not.
bruce lee is like jet li and jackie chan that type, where their acting skills in movies is better than their kungfu. Their movies are what makes them look powerful.
True martial artists don't act in movies, only sub-standard ones do.
Hey. Bruce Lee has fought and defeated many martial arts experts you know

No time leh. Than I also wear specs and can't see anything without my specs so troublesome to learn martial arts
actually i feel the best martial art is from india. but they don't publicise much about it and there is no tradition of teaching foreigners due to their caste system.
there is a chinese saying 天下æ¦åŠŸå‡ºå°‘æž—. martial arts, to the indians is just yoga, was introduced into shaolin by Bodhidharma for meditation purposes. Bodhidharma was from the warrior caste (he was a prince) in India.
some of the main martial arts schools that trace their origin to shaolin still pay respect to Bodhidharma when they are being initiated into the black belt level. Nam Hua Pai does that in the past (not sure is it still now)
Muay Thai is also heavily influenced by indian martial arts.
A short video on one of India's martial arts, the Kalari Payattu. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YmA46x7Xok
