When i was much younger I accquired a red belt black tip under Singapore Tae Kwon Do Academy but have forgotten most that I have learnt.
Fast Forward 14 yrs later, I am tinking of picking up martial arts as a sport again..
Unfortunately, I have injured my back before and considering the fact that my options are limited, judo is out for sure!
TInking of Kendo/ Karate.... Anyone has suggestions of what I shld do?
Or shld I go back to Tae Kwon Do? Considered Aikido as well.. but i found out it's pretty similar to Judo..
Oh ya, does being female makes a difference?
Anyone learning academy here can tell me where got classes? living in Central Singapore.
Taiji. =D
Should be pretty safe. And if you understand its principles it's very very good for self-defence.
Being female...... I think only diff is that you might get observed a lot during lesson... and you can't really train if that 'monthly event' happens to pop up...... if not shouldn't be much diff.....
yalor Taiji very safe. Aikido oso very safe, not exactly like Judo although the use of jujitsu techniques (such as atemi) is the basis for both
Kendo uses the back a lot.
Actually, I can't think of a martial art which doesn't use the back a lot...
