I considering to join teakwondo but i have a very tight pocket . Need to know the price of those 2 items.
Any1 know which martial arts is more practical?
Teakwondo or karate i want to learn to strengthen and real self defence
I do not think there are any differences in terms of self defence.
I do not know how much they cost.

lame. please dont give useless comment
Well join tkd or kata keep ned to buy Ji -(uniforms 1 set) optional to buy shoes. Every grading u ned to change belt But Tkd u ned to buy tape coz got in between colour like eg. white to white+yellow tape then yellow belt. 2 lvl change 1 color belt
But for tkd u ned to buy guard hand guard or shin guard during sparing / tournament.
Prepare abt $250++ roughly if e price nvr increase...
As for wat kinda martial arts depends on ur interest really... A good fighter any kind of martials also will excel...
Then looks at ur physical.... Do you like violent or more mental... tkd kata muay thai boxing consider quite challengin n high injury rate...
Wushu i can say in e middle but train u to b very flexible.....
My own preference will b wing chun.... sad to say in sg hard to find gd wing chun sch..
Then mental will b like tai ji quan....
-injuries sure will have kata / wingchun more of hand bruises tkd muay thai leg bruises... All r great u jus ned to look up on it n see wat u like...
Good luck in finding a gd martial art sch...
Cheers

capoeira martial arts is from brazil and is a no contact martial art , its more like a dance then fighting.
Can get cheap ones at bout 60, but once you hit yellow belt, you will need guards for your forearms, shin and groin. Belt should be ten bucks everytime you change (2 grades)
Once hit black belt, spend 120+++ for adidas uniform and personalized belt. I personally don't dig shoes, like to feel opponents' guts raw

Hey. I personally took TKD before and feel that its a very 'weak' martial art. If you seek violent types, take up muaythai. TKD does not cost much though, it teachs you self defence mainly. And every two level you need to change a belt, the belt is $4 if price did not change. The tape inbetween the 2 levels are free. As for shoes, it is optional.
The uniform may cost up to 100 if you want a good quality one, again if the price did not change. A normal one would be 60 or so. And for the guards, i didn't use them anyway throughout my life in TKD. And there is also the grading fees( for you to go to the next level) They are reasonable prices, but the fee will bite you if you fail your grading as you need to repay to go to another one. And if i'm not wrong grading only happens 4 times a year, so if you fail even one time (or even none) it's very hard to progress up the ranks(unless double promotion[save cost, time]).
Anyway, if you wanna take up martial arts, you should consider intrest and not the cost, as i know a few places which are willing to teach free. And if your really interested, you should do more research. Cheers!
