Its for Ki/Chi training I guess but here is my recommendation for those who is into brute force.Make a hammer fist and spend only 3 minutes a day banging on a hard surface. After 2 years it becomes a deadly weapon and you can smash coconuts with it.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:It's a misconception that Tai Ji is slow...
It's slow because it's an internal art. Internal arts place emphasis on the relax mind and body to attack. External arts focus on brute force.
Yup.Originally posted by Short Ninja:Its for Ki/Chi training I guess but here is my recommendation for those who is into brute force.Make a hammer fist and spend only 3 minutes a day banging on a hard surface. After 2 years it becomes a deadly weapon and you can smash coconuts with it.
Each to his own...Originally posted by dumbdumb!:if you've watched naruto, its like neji and rock lee.
one uses soft art, the other uses brute force.
i've taken taiji when i was a teenager, but i think i prefer brute force type of kungfu, at least i know when i'm dealing damage.
but i'm also squeamish, so dunno la.

I am in the same shoe as you, now searching for Taiji teacher hopefully . interest is in health and really curious to wanted to learn qicong. So far I found two that runs in course run.Originally posted by Rynax:that is true.. but what those cc teaches are for old folks to maintain health. I am looking for a class whereby the teachings will be useful for example teaching abt the chi and stuff. i really doubt those morning/evening taichi classes focus on anything except movements.
Its not just self defence i want. I want the essence of the style and the uniqueness the style holds that other styles cannot teach. If it's purely self defence i want i can just pick up a random martial art

and he's damn pro la.
grandfather now, still fit as a fiddle, hair still black he looks like he's below 40 years old.
at that time i was still 13 though haha. now 10 years down, dunno how old he looks
There is difference between the biological and chronological age.If you are not fit and healthy you may be older than you think. As for appearance ,well that is genetic.Originally posted by SingHiFi:Yes I can go Toa Payoh, Geylang/Aljunied/Katong is actually best for me. can you tell me whom to contact or URL? I am not into fighting, just wanted health and fitness. Your comment about your grandfather look below 40 sounds interesting. I know a Malay Barber that is about 40 but looks like 28 years old, he says his family line are all like that (his brother 27 looks like 16/17) I think aging is programmed inside each persons gene.
haha not my grandpa la. both my grandpas are dead. nv take taiji tts why, HAHAHA!Originally posted by SingHiFi:Yes I can go Toa Payoh, Geylang/Aljunied/Katong is actually best for me. can you tell me whom to contact or URL? I hope to do saturday afternoon class.
