  Both are good. Although there aren't lots of stances in either, they are hard to master.

  Must i learn qi gong first then learn xingyi quan??
  
  Is qi gong nessasary for xingyi or does xingyi train internal energy the same way as qi gong?

  beginner right? first get form right. XingYi? have many types leh henan xingyi and so on haha. Slowly take yr time choose. If i remember correctly there is only 2 types of bagua: yin bagua, yin yang bagua.

  Find a good teacher for some will teach u fake moves for they are rather protective of their art. They will only teach u core stuff unless u become inner student. Yang Chen Fu spent 10 yrs in Chen Jia Guo before he was shown the core stuff of chen jia quan.
  
  I presume u are going to ask how to become inner student. Well i dunno. Ever heard of Nan Hwa Pai? Some students pay $500 to enter inner circles.
