Think about it.

I've thought about it, and I've arrived at the conclusion that you're being too mean to that old man. I still have a certain level of grudging respect for him, even though I've got many complaints of my own. We're not totally screwed, we're just semi-screwed.*Grins* It could be a whole lot worse you know. *Shrugs his shoulders, with an uncertain look on his face*
Singaporeans ask for it, particularly the 66.6% voters.
Then the PAP has better not let them down eh? Besides, freedom is the thing we all ask for in this little isle, freedom of speech etc...
Have you ever considered a Singapore with total freedom? Somehow it scares me...I love liberty and all it stands for, but I also know...it comes at quite a costly price...One many people may not have to stomach for. We don't need to look too far for an example *Winks*
It's like crime.. few people think of commiting one till the opportunity appears...So total freedom means plenty of opportunities... and I dread having to face the worst of human nature...

Nope.
Singaporeans prefer North Koreans type of government, the peace and tranquility that results.

Heh... you must be kidding right? The type of govt that shoots tourists in the back?
I disagree, Singaporeans may be ignorant and sometimes downright selfish and rather stupid. That does not mean that they would stand for anything, especially not a fascist, autocratic government, but before you start giving the comment "But that's exactly what our government is!". I'd like to believe that singaporean still have a certain threshold, and we're just being generous to the government for having done quite a good job for the last forty plus years. So should we ever descend to the state of N.Korea, I'd like to believe that Singaporeans would take to the streets and have themselves a mighty fine party, like the ones they are having in Thailand right about now. Afterall, I know I would... Are with me, when the time should come?
i actually scrolled up to be sure which forum this was.. lawls..
