Some suggestions
Rochester Park Alfresco Wine and Dine
It's still a fairly exclusive place just behind Bouna Vista MRT. Pricing might be a bit on the high side but the ambience and atmosphere most certain is worth the price. Good for a small gathering of 4-6. Personal recommendation would be "The Classic". They got very comfortable chairs there to sit and chat for long hours over some beer. The music playing is normally instrumental or Jazz.
Bowling
Good for groups of up to about 10. While waiting for your turn to throw the ball, you can have a short get to know others session. If the person you are talking to now does not suit you, you have the perfect excuse to move away and throw your ball and move on to the next after that. Also a good way to laugh at each other and have healthy fun.
Ballroom Dancing
Forumites can group together and go sign up for a ballroom dancing course. We can meet up every week and learn the finer points of dancing. Also a good time to know each other and develop closeness. For singles out there, it might just be the correct time for love to blossom.
BBQ
Yes, it's boring and old. But with good organisation and less politics, we can organise a fun BBQ with games and fun. It need not be just meet up, who bring what, blah blah blah. It can even be made into a major games session in the early evening, a makan session after 7, and a booze session after 9. We just need a good organiser.
Lan Gaming Outing
Yes, we all have internet connection at home so why bother? But playing with your buddies right next to you is something else all together. The after-coffee session can be used to discuss further tactics and used to built friendship.
I'll post more when I have more ideas.

If you guys wanna venture Dempsey/ Portsdown, I have a few suggestions:
1. Hacienda at Dempsey
2. Cicada at Portsdown.
Nice place, good ambience.
If you guys want a place more for chill out/ relax, dun need to wear so nice.. try Backyard Bistro at 11 Mackenzie Road.

Hort Park is nice in the day...at 10-11 its all dark already...

That's nice.... :) I want to try out that place. It's definitely a long WALK I assume, and after that can chill...
