hmm, is it that hard?Originally posted by Gedanken:Casual wear? Tomorrow's Casual Friday, which is my least favourite day of the week - it's a bugger to decide that to wear.

suits?
It's a bloomin' pain in the arse. With suits, it's easy - grab a suit, tie and shirt, and you've gotta be Stevie Wonder to get it wrong.Originally posted by laurence82:hmm, is it that hard?
if its me, it would be polo and jeans
smart casual

Buddy-boy, when you're in Brioni country, you gotta be well-equipped.Originally posted by DC+:I said office wear! Not gigolo wear!
heheOriginally posted by Gedanken:Yeah, but I'm not in Singapore, am I?
When I do pop over to Singapore to do stuff, I just forget the jacket - easy!
I've been meaning to try out one guy on Orchard Road the next time I'm in town - apparently LV's GM goes to him. Lemme see if I can dig up the contact details.Originally posted by laurence82:hehe

on the first day of work i outdressed my senior vice presidentOriginally posted by DC+:but hor, you cant dress better than your boss ma right
In most of my previous roles I actually have. These days I'm in more comfortable territory - people actually know what Super 100 is. Besides, I can't jolly well front up to an exec board in polyester, can I?Originally posted by DC+:but hor, you cant dress better than your boss ma right
Nah, not for a while. I'm trying to swing by Singapore for TX and don's wedding on the way to a conference stateside.Originally posted by laurence82:thanks
you're back in sg yet??
Can't remember - I had the contact somewhere and I'll have to dig it up. IIRC it's in Orchard Plaza. Not sure about prices, but it shouldn't be too difficult to manage.Originally posted by bluejuice:
who??
must be expensive then?
Rule #1: if you screw up and you're dressed right, chances are that you'll get away with it.Originally posted by laurence82:on the first day of work i outdressed my senior vice president
haha
french cuff, ties, the works
actually there should be quite a number of tailors in singapore...Originally posted by Gedanken:Can't remember - I had the contact somewhere and I'll have to dig it up. IIRC it's in Orchard Plaza. Not sure about prices, but it shouldn't be too difficult to manage.
the pants was polyester, but its ok, because its a nice polyester..or at least it is polyester i thinkOriginally posted by Gedanken:Rule #1: if you screw up and you're dressed right, chances are that you'll get away with it.
Yeah, it's luck of the draw, really - get a bad tailor and it'll really suck. The good news for me is that size 52C for Hugo Boss sits perfectly on me, and all I have to do is get the waist of the pants taken in a bit.Originally posted by bluejuice:actually there should be quite a number of tailors in singapore...
only whether they're good or not..
Polyester's a nightmare in Singaporean weather - Cool Wool's the way to go in that climate.Originally posted by laurence82:the pants was polyester, but its ok, because its a nice polyester..or at least it is polyester i think
luckily, i did well and i dressed well, at least for that day
i am redeemed!
