Daniel Schacter is one of the most distinguished memory researchers. In this book he explains how and why everything changes from false memory to Alzheimer's disease, from recovered memory to amnesia, with fascinating firsthand accounts of patients with striking (and sometyms bizzare) amnesias resulting from brain injury or psychological trauma....
I started reading this few weeks ago since recently I have been too forgetful, short-term memory and I have difficulty remembering stuffs... I dun even remember what I've done in the day as I tries to recall at nyt... So curious to analyse how brain works to remember things, I found this book from the library... Havent finish reading it yet... I'll write another review when I've finish the book...

Amy Tan - The Hundred Secret Senses
Personally I find the book a lil' too magical, it just doesnt belong to the realistic world but great for imaginations... Not captivating enuff to keep mi hooked on, hence I spent almost three months on this book...
Anyway, here are some reviews on this book:

a girl whose lover committed suicide, meets with the children of the man whose book her lover was translating when he killed himself...
and from there, a strange tale of love, incest, friendship, loss, courage and other things so mundane yet special is woven... told in a way that you can't help but be transported into their little world, their story.. that is engrossing...
could not put down the book.. in fact, i usually read all of Yoshimoto's books in a rush.. and again and again..
