Have a love for wines?? here's a lil' thread for introducting to others ur favourite wine, grape variety or a specific wine maker...!!
ok, mi start off first ya....
My Favourite is Clonakilla 2001 !! Clonakilla is the leading estate in Canberra; the wines are outstanding !! Clonakilla literally means 'meadow of the church' and is the name of the family's farm in County Clare...
The cooler climate in Clonakilla gives gentle spices and red berry flavours to their Canberra District Shiraz, which is softened by the addition of 6% Viognier to the blend.... This is a serious wine and one that has now attained cult status in Australia.... I love the Clonakilla especially in the year 2001, coz 2001 is a great harvest year!! the wine is rich and aromatic, the perfumes of the Viognier meshing perfectly with the smokiness of the oak... The wine maker is Tim Kirk, Canberra based research scientist.
but u cant get Clonakilla 2001 around in singapore anymore... I tried the year 2002 one, is stil as gud, but 2001 is definitely better !! anyway, clonakilla 2004 is out now... I'm going to try it next week !! hee hee.... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !! u guys must go haf a try at it...

I recommend Two Ocean and Casillero Del Diablo......both r quite good....
And i also have many wines in my wine fridge... -

For normal leisure drinking... a 03 wolfblass is gd enough. I used to like chile wine, but nw my taste start to shift to australia and french wine liaoz.

interestingly, most people would drink the lighter ones first and the heavier ones as the third or fourth... but after the third one u cant really tell the taste le... -

i tried some SGD5/RM10 bottles of flavored vodkas at Gelang Patah b4...drank abt 3/4 then feel a bit tired...

mostly made by the natural method... No artificial freezing method constitutes icewine by definition or label.... thats why its so expensive !!
to make icewine, the grapes are left on the vine until after the first frost hits... these grapes are harvested after being frozen in the vineyard and then, while still frozen, they are pressed....
they must be picked early - before 10 a.m... During both of these processes the temperature cannot exceed -8 degrees C.... At this temperature (-8 degrees C) the berries will freeze as hard as marbles... While the grape is still in its frozen state, it is pressed and the water is driven out as shards of ice... This leaves a highly concentrated juice, very high in acids, sugars and aromatics...
usually it is made from grape variety Vidal and Riesling grapes..
