How much has it helped you? I love to listen to some feedback.
Anyway let's say u are still in Indonesia now, find time to travel to Bagansiapipi in Sumatra where they still speak the purest form of Tong'An Hokkien. I love to listen to them speak.
I don't really fancy the Medan Hokkien.

hmm....it refreshes a lot of the hokkien that i listened to back in sg. I think 90% of the hokkien there is similar to ours. Always thought it's a shame i could nt speak a major dialect of ours fluently. Will listen to these 20 recordings carefully.
I'm in java and the chinese here hardly speak chinese, let alone hokkien lol. In places like sumatra and kalimantan, heard it's still widespread.
Ok let me google the place u mentioned.

Bagansiapiapi is in Riau, Sumatra next to Indragiri.

Sorry for the spelling mistake, it is Bagansiapiapi instead of Bagansiapipi.
