Is hiring prostitutes a shameful act in SG?

Given that hiring prostitutes is legal, I am wondering how SG people judge it from a moral perspective.
If a visit to Geylang brothel is seen by his co-workers, is it very embarrassing?

I think we owe it to people to keep their private live private. What do we have to gain by going around telling everyone that so and so visit prostitutes. But of course it is a potential source of blackmail, so people in high authority be it public or private should not do it. But not because it is embarrassing but more to do with security.

you both miss my point, which is not about "whether it is right to gossip about others visiting prostitutes", but whether one would feel embarrassed if somehow such activity comes to light for whatever reason.
Let me give you a scenario: Your friends/colleagues are eating at Geylang, and see you pick up a street walker and head into a hourly hotel.

I think we have to be open minded about this matter. I know many army guys went to the red light districts together after beer drinking session. They never remarked any embarrassment about it but instead they laughed about it. I remembered too during my teenager years, my childhood friends and I went to the red lights district for fun and experience to see first hand how it felt like to be there and be near up close to the prostitutes. We went there and admired the prostitutes' beauty and observed them how they solicited for customers. We even asked them "how much" for fun to see the prostitutes reaction. Then later we all spoke and laughed of our experiences in the coffeeshop. We didn't engage any prostitute but we had fun just being in that Johor Road, Deskar Road and Geylang red lights districts and we all were in our teens only haha. -
Every human has needs and how we satisfy them is our own problem. It shoudl not be judged by others.

Don't feel like that dude. You are just doing what many people might have done before. you are paying for what you want, and nobody should blame you for this. but i am not encouraging you to get a prostitute while you are in a relationship, that doesn't sound good to your partner.
