Thai ladies at Geylang -- are they prostitutes?

At the corners of Sims Ave and Lor 11, Lor 13, and Lor 15 there are these Thai ladies, every night they sit at the restaurant tables, seem to do nothing but companying very old men. Does anyone know if they are prostitutes?
I have seen a few of them go into hourly hotel with men, but in general they don't seem to be actively soliciting business. They just sit there all night long, drinking, talking with the old men, rubbing their hands, massaging their backs, etc. I'm very curious what the story is with those Thai ladies...

There are only 4-5 stalls, but maybe 40-50 old men............ Most are bound to be customers I think.

They sit around for "lucky money" - anything from $5 + .........Depending on how much you give them, they will kiss, cuddle, touch, massage or just sit next to you & keep you company. They also get you to pay for their makaan + drink.
If you feel like going to a hotel, you can have sex with them for $30+

Do you think that they can survive on the income from just drinking with the old men? Soliciting is illegal so can only drink and wait for request to make extra

I would say one in 10 is very quality girl! I would not mind having their company at all.
How does one hook up with them? Especially hooking up with the specific one I'm interested. It seems even those girls sitting by themselves without any men at same table are not actively soliciting any business..... Is the customer expected to pro-actively enquire?

HKGG - just sit at one of the tables and make eye contact with whoever you like. They will come to you. Regarding payment, best if you ask before how much lucky money they want and how long will they sit with you. if you want sex, thne ask before again and also for how long. Sometimes the rate is for 1 shot (boom boom) sometimes it is for 1 hour which can be more than one boom boom (if you are able to manage more than once in less than 1 hour.

Yes it is ok to approach them but be respectful and ask permission to sit next to them first.
I have been there a few times and have always had good luck. There are also a few places nearby where you can rent rooms by the hour $10 + $2 per condom. That is if you want to go for boom boom later :-)
You'll find them sitting around daily and on weekends even from 6 am !!
