Mont Blanc HistoryThe company was originally called Simplo FillerPen Company. The company expanded its presence to Paris, London, and Barcelona three years after it was founded and was present in most of the fashionable capitals of Europe.
In 1934, the company's name was changed to Mont Blanc Simplo GmbH, after the tallest peak in Europe.
Three Germans founded the company in 1906 -- Hamburg-based stationer Claus-Johannes Voss, Hamburg banker Christian Lausen and a Berlin engineer Wilhelm Dziambor. The company's international headquarter is in Hamburg.
In 1913, the now ubiquitous Mont Blanc star became the company logo and it resembles the top of a snow capped mountain peak.
The Meisterstück continues to be the quintessential Mont Blanc. The pen that was first unveiled in 1924 continues to be one of the best selling products and it has over the years spawned a Meisterstück line of fine writing instruments.
Other new writing instrument lines from Mont Blanc include Star Walker and Bohème.
Seventy-one years after the first Meisterstück writing instrument was produced, Mont Blanc introduced the Meisterstück line of large leather collections for business and travel.
In 1996, Meisterstück entered the jewellery line and came out with personal accessories for men.
