Why quality of mediacorp chinese dramas getting worse?

their box office hits remind us the large nos. of followings after the sluts....
anyway.....our medias are adopting feminists stance....its not healthy

Actually, I would prefer if Mediacorp or Mobtv could show more of these "old shows" from the 90's...but Mediacorp refuse to grant Mobtv rights to have more shows on their website. sad man, if Mobtv could have a library of 90's shows. Currently they are charging $10 a month...it is very cheap if you have a wide selection...never ending of shows! Like TVB renting of vcds/dvds...if only Mediacorp can copy TVB.... -

No matter how 'bad' the standard of mediacorp drama is, one conclusion for the ending of the drama is:
Bad person either die or mend his ways (most of the time bad person ends up die if he does 'too many evil deeds'
Of course, good person has his good ending.
No need to po po ma ma like taiwan soap operas.

Yea...the dramas are getting really boring...I don't watch TV much nowadays, but when I do I only see people shouting and yelling at each other on channel 8 dramas. The stuff I watched in the 90's were more interesting.

Yeah, HK dramas and Taiwan soap operas rarely have shouting and yelling scene.Since you don't watch local dramas, I will reccomend you to watch 欢喜�逗阵 (161 epsiodes in Taiwan edition) in youtube. Rarely seeing shouting and yelling scene, but mostly, peace and harmony.

I miss series such as Immortal Love and Wok of Life..etc

Not really use back same actors.
For 9pm drama (Must catch it today coz it is last epsiode!!!), Ch 8 decided to use Tiffany Leong and Prisilla Chan. They long time did not appear on the TV scene already.
Jessica Liu, if I remembered correctly, her last 'artpiece' is 'baby bonus'. Long time never see her act anymore........
If I not wrong, there are 1 to 2 actors (Like Terrance Cao etc...) who involve in 2 consecntive 9pm dramas.
How about asking Sharon Au to act in the drama again lol once she comes back from overseas (finishing her studying)

Too bad, most of them like: Wang Yu Qing etc... either left or become freelancers. Only Chen Shu Cheng, Xiang Yun, Jing Ying Ji, Hong Hui Fang still in mediacorp.If I not wrong, Joanne Peh hosted with Chen Shu Cheng in the PSC nite before she became a full-time actor.
Hmm... how about those who left mediacorp for mediaworks last time like: Evelyn Tan, Chen Chuan Zhi etc...

Hmmm I don't really like watching dramas which Xiang Yun acted in...coz most of them are really noisy (screaming, crying, ANGST)
For some reason I also think that the actors/actresses looked better in the past...Maybe I'm biased :P

People are switching to Starhub Cable TV and there are just too many interesting and high quality chinese dramas and variety shows to watch.
So, fewer people watch Media Corp dramas. With fewer viewers and so less advertising revenue, Mediacorp cut production cost and so the quality of local chinese drama dropped.
Mediacorp has been repeating its past popular chinese drama so frequently to cut and keep cost low in view of declining advertising revenue.

mediacorp seems to be a little 'cui' now leh.. lol.. those dramas they produced are kinda boring compared to last time.. like 游�人生, 添��财... but there are some shows which i think are not too bad too..

anw i think joanne peh and gang quite cool leh.. haha.. i wont saying their acting is superb la.. but not too bad as well.... ppl like... elvin ng, joanne peh, Jeanette aw, DYT, jerry yeo, nat ho, rui en and some others.. i think all of them quite good looking... hahahaha... oh and ur rmb there was this actress by the name of Huimin in the show 'Together' ?.. is she a sg artist??

if you notice, channel 8 dramas have hardly any storylines. Its really a drama, as in aunties like ah yoyo, xiang yun, etc go around shouting and screaming.... distrubing to the ears really

last time xiang yun and chen li ping are big sisters before zoe tay and fann wong. now they are aunties already. zoe tay is on her way to being an aunty and fann wong is joining the auntie club in a few years time.

if u want to have period kungfu drama, they have also. they have yuen biao, yuen wah, liang jia ren and derek kwok, who know gongfu in real life. do we have anyone who can fight in spore?
