Lydia Sum seriously ill

Renowned actress and comedian Lydia Sum Tin-ha is reported to be in serious condition in a Hong Kong hospital's intensive care unit after collapsing in her home on Thursday.
South China Morning Post reported that the semi-conscious Hong Kong actress was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
The 60-year-old actress, fondly known as Fei Fei, was later transferred to the Queen Mary Hospital.
The Standard reported that Sum suffered from pleural effusion, which is a complication of liver cancer.
Police officers have been assigned to patrol the intensive care unit at the hospital to keep the media at bay.
Sum's daughter Joyce Cheng Yan-yee, 20, declined to comment on her motherÂ’s condition.
SumÂ’s former husband Adam Cheng Siu-chow, who visited her at 5.30pm, said her condition had stabilised.
In September last year, Sum was admitted to hospital for a cholelithotomy to have 32 gallstones extracted. Then, she was diagnosed with cancer of the liver and gallbladder.
Doctors at Queen Mary Hospital removed a 2.7kg tumour after an eight-hour long operation and, since then, she has been in and out of hospital many times. -

Actress Lydia Shum Din-ha can sit up in bed and feed herself, 24 hours after being admitted to an intensive care ward, her doctor and daughter said on Friday.
Transplant expert Lo Chung-mau said the actress, popularly known as "Fei Fei," is able to sit up straight.
Shum's daughter Joyce Cheng Yan- yee returned to Queen Mary Hospital around noon and said on her departure her mother was in better spirits.
"She talked to us and ate some noodles," Cheng said.
Cheng said she is not sure if Shum's collapse at her home on Thursday was in any way related to the hairy crabs she had eaten recently.
Reports appearing in several newspapers indicated Shum had six hairy crabs a few days ago despite a strict diet ordered by her doctor.
In a Commercial Radio program, Shum's friend, actress Deborah Dik - the mother of pop star Nicholas Tse Ting-fung - accused the media of impeding Shum's treatment and urged reporters to stop hassling the 20-year- old Cheng.
Dik said she will not visit Shum at the hospital as there are too many reporters waiting to pounce on visitors.
The Hong Kong Journalists Association, which has received similar complaints, on Friday urged journalists to respect Shum's right to treatment.
More than 100 newsmen gathered at Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary hospitals on Thursday, forcing police to call in reinforcements to establish order.
About half of that number of reporters were still stationed at Queen Mary Hospital on Friday.
Shum, 60, was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a semi-conscious state on Thursday morning after collapsing at home in Kowloon Tong. -
