Australian police raid Stallone's hotel roomAustralian police have raided movie muscleman Sylvester Stallone's hotel room and private jet just days after customs found outlawed substances in his entourage's luggage, a report said.
The raid on the Italian Stallion's room at an ultra ritzy Sydney hotel came Monday as occupants of the room were allegedly seen tossing things out the window as authorities approached, the Daily Telegraph reported.
"A senior (customs) source told the Daily Telegraph the investigation was fast-tracked after occupants of Stallone's room at the five-star Park Hyatt Hotel were seen throwing items out of the window," the paper said.
The dramatic swoop came three days after the 60-year-old "Rocky" superstar was detained at Sydney airport as he arrived for a promotional tour when banned substances were found in the luggage of members of his party.
But the Telegraph, which said the seized banned items were believed to be bodybuilding drugs or a human growth hormone, said the superstar had been allowed to leave Australia as scheduled late Monday, but only after his plane was also searched by authorities.
A representative for Australian Customs declined to confirm or deny the report, while Park Hyatt spokeswoman Lara Dawson told AFP the hotel had no comment on the incident.
Stallone's representatives could not immediately be reached for comment.
Stallone was in Australia to promote "Rocky Balboa," the sixth and last movie in the legendary series about a boxer who Stallone first incarnated 30 years ago.
The star and his party were detained late Friday at Sydney's airport after X-rays revealed prohibited items in their baggage, according to officials who however declined to confirm the nature of the banned items.
"We are holding the items and our investigations are continuing into those items," a spokesman said earlier.
Stallone dismissed the incident as a misunderstanding when he attended the Australia premiere of "Rocky Balboa" at an open-air screen overlooking Sydney Harbour on Saturday night.
"That was just a misunderstanding," he said. "Customs is doing a great job."
