DeMille Award recipient Clint Eastwood for Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima and Golden Globes Best Director (Gangs Of New York) Martin Scorsese for The Departed. Then there's the new blood: first-time nominees Stephen Frears for The Queen and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu for Babel.
Clinching a double coup, like director Clint Eastwood, is Leonardo DiCaprio, who is nominated twice for Best Actor (Drama) with The Departed and Blood Diamond.

STEVE CARELL: BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A TELEVISION SERIES - COMEDY OR MUSICAL NOMINEE
Elsewhere, Penelope Cruz and RnB star Beyonce Knowles garnered their first Golden Globes nomination scoop for Best Actress(Drama ) and Best Actress (Comedy) respectively. But Penelope Cruz is up against stiff competition from the likes of Judi Dench, Helen Mirren and Kate Winslet who have all been crowned Golden Globes Best Actress at least once in their careers, while Maggie Gyllenhael has been nominated once.
Warren Beatty will receive this year’s Cecil B. DeMille Award from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for his “outstanding contribution to the entertainment field.”
On the TV side, the nominations are rather well spread-out, with the most-nominated TV series Grey's Anatomy and Weeds getting just a modest four nominations each.
Reese Witherspoon, Felicity Huffman, Salma Hayek, Ben Stiller and Justin Timberlake are some of the confirmed presenters for The 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards at The Beverly Hilton.
