Premieres Jan 17-18, Wed & Thurs, 8pm & 10pm (Two-part special)
Very little is being done to alter the winning composition of American Idol. Not that we're complaining. Bad singers, we're sure, will invade our horrified (yet delighted) sights and eardrums when no less than SIX audition episodes arrive fresh for the toasting in our living rooms. And honest, nasty judge Simon Cowell will raise controversy and step on everyone's nerves with his chilly and irate insults - again to everyone's glee.
The seven cities that the producers made a pitstop for auditions for the sixth season since August 2006 were Los Angeles, San Antonio, East Rutherford, Birmingham, Memphis, Minneapolis and Seattle. Tens of thousands auditioned. According to the show's official website, preliminary reports are out that the talent this year will definitely not disappoint. Guest judges for the auditions include Jewel and Olivia Newton-John.
