The camp is guarded by the fearsome Cisco.
Not a disgruntled FDS Sqn pte.
i can't remember which gate has Cisco. basically the first layer was Cisco, then the FDS Sqn.Originally posted by chanjyj:I just came back (Changi WEST airbase)-No sign of Cisco Guards (I went to A, B, C, D, E Areas).
Security at the gate is fine-beyond that, it's terrible. But they have such a large perimeter I guess you can't help it.
there would be a Metal detector Arch at every range lanes.Originally posted by Manager433:So we have a clearer picture of how teo escaped from his camp on that nite. Sabo king. Now many ppl kena 'killed' by him. Sure it will take many hours to 'clear arms' when u sending in ur rifles after range or ex.
Errm.. the ACTUAL sop in range is to use metal detectors after every range.Originally posted by LazerLordz:Why can't they just use the metal detectors at the range?
Frankly, perhaps its time the SAF spend more money on camp security measures and automated security systems. Basic fundamentals of camp security cannot be chucked aside while all the big toys are bought.
Maybe changed already. FDS half sleepingOriginally posted by Ponders:i can't remember which gate has Cisco. basically the first layer was Cisco, then the FDS Sqn.
i guess Cisco contract ended when SAF is given new powers few weeks back.Originally posted by chanjyj:Maybe changed already. FDS half sleeping
On 2 September, Corporal Teo was assigned patrolling duty and its procedures require it to be conducted on two—hour shifts and in pairs.Well, this cleared up one issue. Duty SOP should've been "guard two hours, rest four hours", like in my time.
No more detaining of soldiers (as far as i know).Originally posted by blitzonic:Well, this cleared up one issue. Duty SOP should've been "guard two hours, rest four hours", like in my time.
Still, I don't understand how Teo could climb out the window without anyone in the bunk seeing him (if he did it between 2200 to 2359). Is the upstairs bunk partitioned, or else where was everyone? If Teo hid on the paraqet & patiently waited for his opportunity, why didn't his prowler buddy raise the alarm?
Err... Also, how come today's guardrooms look like a backpacker's inn from the outside? ~lol~ Where to detain an arrested soldier, deh.
is this weight correct? as far as i know (as a former ammo tech), one big box of 3000 rd weigth around 40kg. how can the RAI weight 5 times more ?Originally posted by Ponders:65grams per 5.56mm RAI.
Unit issued 3000 5.56rds for a range. Expected RAI return is 65x3000 = 195kg of RAI at end of day.
I believe it is not a wise way to count RAI.
that is correct. the detaining cell in my guardroom was used as a storeroom.Originally posted by Ponders:No more detaining of soldiers (as far as i know).
new procedures is to immediately deliver 1x convicted detainee after FFI to Kranji Resort.
is my math wrong? i dun really know what the SOP is,Originally posted by lemon1974:is this weight correct? as far as i know (as a former ammo tech), one big box of 3000 rd weigth around 40kg. how can the RAI weight 5 times more ?
mine became the armskote of the guard room. and people wonder why there's a toilet bowl in the armskote.Originally posted by Gordonator:that is correct. the detaining cell in my guardroom was used as a storeroom.
he sound very dangerous... planned everything even lodging n clothes when dead...Originally posted by Ponders:i was thinking....
he was taken down wearing a jacket and tie at cineleisure..
given his dressing. I was wondering if he was preparing to commit suicide after doing what he planned to do with his rifle.
plus, note that his jacket and tie was a uniform he got while working previously.
He did not go home after AWOL, means he brought this set of clothes to camp.
well, he's caught now, before anything serious happened. good goodOriginally posted by BrUtUs:he sound very dangerous... planned everything even lodging n clothes when dead...
No.. i mean now the SAR 21 is chained to a Rack.Originally posted by Icemoon:I read in the papers now the new procedure is to fence up the guard room bunk window for mandai .. and metal chain the rifles on the rack.
I thought the metal chain is SOP across SAF? You mean got guards off duty but can keep their rifle with them?

so when you are doing prowling, you have a rifle that is chained to the rack, yup.. the chain is 3-5 km long.
