i field 'promoted' one platoon medic to my appt. when i orded...
of course reason must be plausible...somemore smti churn out medic specs once every 4 mths oni
usually if they dun wanna listen...i just pop an email to them lor...cc my MO..Originally posted by LazerLordz:Icic..
Once every 4 months huh..that's quite little..
I have friends who used to tell me that during their NS days as Coy/Platoon Medics, they faced a lot of problems with asserting their vocational expertise by higher-ranking officers who do not respect their appointment and role in the Company.
Do the coy/platoon medics have feedback sessions with the MO? They have the duty to bring this issue up for the necessary corrective (and punitive for the OC) action to be taken.Originally posted by Rockhound:u got Coy medic for wat fuck
if he is a medic...
more importantly a human
he should highlight it
depends uh,...most platoon medics just mind their own bizness...Originally posted by cornyfish2000:Do the coy/platoon medics have feedback sessions with the MO? They have the duty to bring this issue up for the necessary corrective (and punitive for the OC) action to be taken.
What an irresponsible and naive officer with no welfare of his men at heart. One would have thought that the recent spate of physical exertion-related deaths would have taught people a thing or two about the importance of health and training safety.
I guess that's how it should be, but I think many people are afraid to even stand up to an officer even if the officer is wrong.Originally posted by Rockhound:usually if they dun wanna listen...i just pop an email to them lor...cc my MO..
or brigade MO..
or brigade senior medic..
u wanna play big fuck with me...i also can play big fuck with u....
cos if things happen....usually they target the medic first...
its useful if u got contacts at high places too
so i cover my ass first...
its a big deal lor if Officers never follow directives...they can get into alot of trouble...
so its ure duty to remind them that...
i use to cite paragraphs and paragraphs of directives...until officers dun pull rank..
This reminds me of another incident a while back. Except that this ban on reporting sick was coming from the S3 or CO (can't remember correctly) of a particular unit in question.Originally posted by cornyfish2000:Do the coy/platoon medics have feedback sessions with the MO? some kinds of ppl must accept that the army is moving to a more safer systemOriginally posted by LazerLordz:This reminds me of another incident a while back. Except that this ban on reporting sick was coming from the S3 or CO (can't remember correctly) of a particular unit in question.
The unit Chief MO was none too happy, but at least he approached the DIV MO with this issue.
Some meetings took place and things were resolved. Apparently there was a clash in cultures, which if not solved, meant safety would have been at risk.
Yea, safety as the no.1 concern is something that will take time for some of the "lao jiaos" to understand.Originally posted by Rockhound:some kinds of ppl must accept that the army is moving to a more safer system
it may be good...it may be bad
but who wanna explain to a parent if his/her son dies due to some stupid ruling....
army investigations lagi worse lor...

It's laziness speaking when your commanders are unable to come up with a training plan that is effective and safe at the same time.
of course . train the spirit not the body .Originally posted by Rockhound:just imagine this situation......
OC push soldiers
some get sick...
he allows them to report sick...

Well, I can safely say that if you take care of your men, they will know your leadership is worth your rank and they will be grateful. (majority will be)Originally posted by Rockhound:just imagine this situation......

problem with 6 SIR is that the unit is very big

If someone gets seriously injured, or worse still, dies from denial of medical treatment, it won't be very funny anymore.
Hopefully this OC will wake up and smell the roses, because from what is heard here, it seems that safety is being compromised, and when safety and well-being is not taken care of, then even the unit won't be ready to defend our country when needed.
my bf said alot of his campmates' parents are gonna complain . idunno whether it'd be all action and no talk . but one of his camp mates has a mum working as OC or someth . i forgot the rank (so sorry) and the mum called to screw em up and told them if her son fainted or someth would you be responsible ? not sure how sick the son was .. but should be quite sick .Originally posted by Rockhound:they sure wake up if something happen lor...times like this..parents complain to MP..sure work one...hehehe...although unethical...

The parent method may work, especially if the parent is a much-higher ranking officer, e.g three to four ranks higher..Originally posted by Doubser:my bf said alot of his campmates' parents are gonna complain . idunno whether it'd be all action and no talk . but one of his camp mates has a mum working as OC or someth . i forgot the rank (so sorry) and the mum called to screw em up and told them if her son fainted or someth would you be responsible ? not sure how sick the son was .. but should be quite sick .

They usually say a lot of things to scare recruits. Especially in mono-intake BMT like your BF's unit.Originally posted by Doubser:his in charge said MC from outsdie all wun be recognized .. only from MO . zzz .
Most likely to stay in 6SIR.Originally posted by Doubser:any ideas after POP where he might get posted out to ?
