Your camp MO is the one who decides if you are fit to continue training, not your OC.
It is not up to your OC to deny you the right to report sick in-camp. Have you and your mates raised this issue to your PC and gotten him to try and solve this problem.Make sure you raise this issue to your direct superiors like your PS and CSM too. I do not believe that everyone will be crazy enough to deny soldiers' their entitlement.
It is very strange for your OC to deny your basic entitlements as found in the General Orders of MINDEF. However, so far it's one side of the story. Was the attendance rate during field camp terrible?
Anyway, if you are sick, get treated. I hope you guys know that there is a differentiation between fair and tough training; and ego-tripping training abuse. However, since you say that you have already reported this to the MINDEF hotline, then you might just have to wait and see.
Second-best course of action is to bring in lots of medication like FEBS, Panadol etc when you next book-in.
I would not advise this course of action until the threadstarter has exhausted all the people in his Chain of Command.Originally posted by Unknown_X:if u really want to blow things up, write in to straits times and ask about the rights u have as a soldier to report sick. but u must be damn sure u r not in the wrong at all.

39.8 degrees most people already dead or died of brain damage.Originally posted by Doubser:but regarding the 'standard' for fever to report sick which is 39.8 degrees etc as stated in first post, is considered extreme right? do they have the right do deny all these? fierce training also shouldnt be to this extreme such that it can actually be life threatening?
sounds like bullying and torture.Originally posted by norm:39.8 degrees most people already dead or died of brain damage.
39.8..probably he hallucinating...Originally posted by norm:39.8 degrees most people already dead or died of brain damage.
precisely. and at 39.8 only allowed to see MO, and not send to hospital or something -.-Originally posted by norm:39.8 degrees most people already dead or died of brain damage.
If you are sick then ask to see the MO. Your OC (a very junior civil servant) cannot stop you.Originally posted by Doubser:I'm frm, we just came back frm field camp and no rest in between and many ppl falling sick. just wanna check with you guys to help out on the following rules whether it makes sense.
my OC told us tht no reporting sick after field camp will be entertained. flu/cough our problem. fever only above 39.8 thn can go mo..we were like wtf. worse still written on Routine Orders: REC are not allowed to report sick outside when book out. no going to hospital or whatever ,,failing to do so will face disciplinary action.. we complained to Mindef counselling and the operator say will write to CO..
This in my opinion, and legally speaking, can be an illegal order.Originally posted by Doubser:wasnt me but my friend. he had fever above 38 degrees, but was denied permission to see MO. was told the fever had to be 39.8 degrees before you're allowed to see the MO.
