Going to your Medical Officer is an entitlement. Your camp MO is the one who decides if you are fit to continue training, not your OC.
It is not up to your OC to deny you the right to report sick in-camp. Have you and your mates raised this issue to your PC and gotten him to try and solve this problem.Make sure you raise this issue to your direct superiors like your PS and CSM too. I do not believe that everyone will be crazy enough to deny soldiers' their entitlement.
It is very strange for your OC to deny your basic entitlements as found in the General Orders of MINDEF. However, so far it's one side of the story. Was the attendance rate during field camp terrible?
Anyway, if you are sick, get treated. I hope you guys know that there is a differentiation between fair and tough training; and ego-tripping training abuse. However, since you say that you have already reported this to the MINDEF hotline, then you might just have to wait and see.
Second-best course of action is to bring in lots of medication like FEBS, Panadol etc when you next book-in. -
Ya, it's been 3 days and we are still waiting.. spoken to our PC and CSM. .all only listen to OC .. field camp attendance was great.. out of 125.. only ard 7 nv attend. .. ppl with Status from MO like heavyload, light duties, RMJ all still have to attend road march... till now we duno what we status for.. got like dun have lidat.. not tht we want to geng.. some really cmi.. still canot report sick.. most of em only PSLE qualification.. i wonder is this the reason why the abuse. fuk up.Originally posted by LazerLordz:Going to your Medical Officer is an entitlement. if u really want to blow things up, write in to straits times and ask about the rights u have as a soldier to report sick. but u must be damn sure u r not in the wrong at all.

He's still got his RSM or Battalion 2IC to talk to. I think he's in BMT, so perhaps he should tread carefully. -

wah..remind me of ns last time...i had to fight to allow men to report sick...i had to highlight to camp mo and Bde Snr Medic when safety wasnt followed..
i used to call it the "BUC"(Best Unit Competition) syndrome...
officers and enciks are so cooped up with it that they forego alot of important safety issues -
but regarding the 'standard' for fever to report sick which is 39.8 degrees etc as stated in first post, is considered extreme right? do they have the right do deny all these? fierce training also shouldnt be to this extreme such that it can actually be life threatening?

Anything beyond 37.6 (correct me if I'm wrong), is considered a fever.
By the time you're 39.8 deg, you're so weak that you may not be able to walk unassisted for long distances.
Your OC is flirting with danger with those Routine Orders of his, because no RO can overrule GOM, as far as I can remember my lessons. -

If you are sick then ask to see the MO. wasnt me but my friend. he had fever above 38 degrees, but was denied permission to see MO. was told the fever had to be 39.8 degrees before you're allowed to see the MO.
