Hi guys, do you know if this is normal?
I was in a Combat vocation and was given 290 emart credits. After being revocated to Service, 120 credits (the difference between combat's 290 and service's 170) got deducted from my balance and I'm now left with scantly anything.
Since 290 and 170 are the annual credit allocations, shouldn't it only be that I will get 170 in my 2nd year top-up? It doesn't make sense to deduct credits when I've already used most of it to get items necessary during my time in combat.
Sure, emarts credits may be a freebie from the army, but they're given at the start of a combat posting because my items will have already started wearing out faster than someone who was in Service right from their enlistment. The wear doesn't undo itself just because I got revocated.
And I was saving my credits to get a new gortex boots! It's like I'm penalized for squeezing the most time out of my current boots and not using my credits fast enough.[/b]
as case with the nsf allowance payslip too...
e.g.
if u got revocated on the 4 July but u still got the same combat allowance for the whole month of july on the 10 July.
BUT BUT BUT...
in August 10 payslip, u will get less because the system will put in the deduction as "Overpayment" for paying u combat pay from 5 july till 31 july...
govt mah... when u owe them money, must pay or else kena penalty fine.. but when error occurs and govt owe u money, need to fill up application form for refund claim and wait wait wait... ... for the money to come back to our pockets.
The allowance thing is reasonable, no one should continue to have Combat pay when they're no longer one.
In that same logic, I also don't expect to be given 290credits on my next top-up, but what they did was deduct 120credits from what they already gave me at the start of my Combat life.
Using the allowance analogy, it's like they start deducting ALL my Combat allowance, including the ones that were given when I was still in Combat.
