got very recently the rule changed...

nsf pti can be still reservist pti...

how i noe.... a nsf pti orded during my bmt, when my time came that i was going to ord, i saw him at khatib fcc as a pti... i spoken to him and thats answer he replied.

And what does a reservist PTI do?

Conduct IPPT for NSmen?

Mindef might see a spike in the $100-400 pay outs to people who passed IPPT.

As far as I know, usually PTI returns as rifleman or non Section Commander, commander role (GMPG, mortar crew, etc)

This is because it would be impossible for PTI to go through ASLC during his NS . So the next possible thing is to make him attend short courses to make him a commander of some sort.

Not necessarily a Sect Comd, despite the 3SG rank.

There's a high chance you could end up in a PDF unit as a infantryman or armored trooper.

Infantryman again, traditionally.

But, with their only relevant experience being during SISPEC BSLC days, they tend to be completely out of their depth if posted to reservist SIR or SAR units. Hence, from what I know, it's usually those doing defense ops (PDF, SADA, FDS, etc.) who pick them up. Too bad, cuz IMO the ex-PTIs usually have the fitness for even recce trooper, just not the expertise. No, the SAF seldom re-course non-regulars.

A lot just stay on the holding list too, but can be posted all over the place. My Arty unit nabbed one during mid-cycle to join our RSM group. The new job entails mostly "traffic cop/signal" stuff (without revealing too much), so the learning curve wasn't too difficult.
