I think he was right in pointing out certain stuff like those about regulars..nsf etc..BUT
WTF how can he go and email the COA,Minister and all that?Dont tell me if u cant solve a problem u go and email the COA?Thats crazy!At least go tell ur CO or something..emailing COA and all the bigshots shows that this guy thinks hes untouchable. -
Seriously if u have duty until 0800 hrs ur officers ask you to leave at 0600hrs You LEAVE but be clever record his voice first Or Put loud speaker so your friends in the camp can hear..
In army officer tell you do what you do dont do extras..If not your officer see you at 0800 what will he think..Dont obey orders??i guess you will have double duties from now on since you like to do duties...Do what your officers or sir tell you to do..
I give another example lets say your in charge need something ask you to leave camp and buy for him but you have duty..You just dont care him and do your duty..?If you do that Tumbs up..Hope you have good life in your army days..
Another Example one day if your camp lost power and telephone line your sir ask you to go out the camp to find some help..AND YOU HAVE DUTY You tell him sorry sir i having duty..I must stay here until my duty end =P=P izzit how it works?? -

if i were LTA X, i would not even consider changing duties. I would have done the duties for him and kissed his feet to thank him for giving me the chance to serve him
If i were the OC, I would have thrown the bloody LTA X into eternal jail and hand the cell key personally to Li to lock the cell door....

Another reason told to me for LTA X's lighter punishment was that it is in light of the work he has done for the battalion, I feel this is unacceptable for several reasons. Firstly in our country we do not mitigate punishments based on past achievements, Durai was not excused despite the amount of money he helped NKF raise, and a doctor would not be excused from molestation no matter how many lives he has helped save.
While some might say this is just a small matter, a story of a single bad officer, the fact that it was not dealt with more severely is indicative of a bigger problem. It shows the lack of quality control being practiced for the leaders of the SAF. The following quote was taken from the army's own intranet homepage:
"In the 3rd Generation SAF, the quality and commitment of our people will continue to be the most important determinant for advancement" - Member of Parliament Ms Indranee RajahWhile I may only be a 2nd lieutenant, I am a citizen of this country. And as a citizen I have the right to demand high standards from the leaders of the SAF While it is true that high standards are hard to come by and even harder to enforce, for such events to come to light and yet nothing be done about it is to say the very least, unacceptable and disappointing.

That prompted the public to ask Mindef if it was true.
Mindef replied with a statement that lead to the entire story being published in the papers.
Does it not mean Mindef admit such an email exists?
And facts on the email (if you chanced upon to read it), are similar as described in Straits Times.
Better search for the email onlines before it gets shut down. -

Question...will our Celeb. Officer get banged for skipping the COC and going straight to the higher-ups only? Because as Gedaken mentioned and after reading the email twice, he mentioned that he gt a call from the LTA that he will be coming to relieve him, but why did he leave his post? Also, will he be given time for leaving before being relieved?
IMHO, if it were to add credibility to his case and show that he's an exemplary officer, he should have not left his post and stayed there all the way till the other guy arrives. And report the matter to the OC via both verbally, email and in print. Sometimes, do things have to protect backside...if OC cover swee swee for the LTA, and still buay song, go up to CO and repeat the procedure. This way, he would have built a case that is solid and iron-clad. -

i dunno if he was defending lee or what cause he kept using the phrase "beacuse his intension was good.." while talking about the punishment. -

this is his grandfather's army. i doubt anything serious will happen to him. even if something do happen to him, rmb that he might be our future PM. although i dun like his dad LHL but i really respect him for his courage to bring this matter up and show the world how the SAF works. this is just the tip of an iceberg. there are still many secrets that he has not see before.
