i felt the commandos rappelling off Sheares Bridge seemed abit off... either something went wrong or the camera man could not focus on what was happening.......

i read in the papers its something about some fire curtain that didnt come on as they were rappling down

I'm waiting for the year where the performance is not planned by SAF military personnels. Hopefully we will have more surprises and varieties compared to the senseless running and swaying on the platform.
And yes, I seriously think the old Magical Sentosa musical fountain show is much more entertaining than NDP itself. Best part is still the parade. -

the fire curtain was supposed to appear when the decorated boat entered the stage, the effect was better when the sky/stage was darker. dunno which idiot activated it so early.
and the rappelling...cant even see them at all due to the brightness of the sparks. camera also cant zoom into them. personally i felt that the commandos' efforts were all wasted...
for those who wants to see how the actual effects were supposed to look like, can look for video clips/pictures of the preview.
