I was attached to NCC schools for some of their proficiency test ... what can i say i have my fair share of childish behaviour, including Cadet Lts. There's nothing wrong with that as kids are just kids ...

Please correct me if I am wrong. I have assumed that a normal NCC unit in a normal secondary sch will consist of 20 odd teenagers.

sec 1 kids = part a (recruits and LCP after gg thru camp)
sec 2 kids = part b (CPL after gg thru camp etc etc)
sec 3 kids = part c (2SG after gg thru course, 3SG if u fail/nv go course)
sec 4 kids = part d (SSG after gg thru UDI course etc etc, left-overs either 2SG or 1SG)
sec 5 kids = part e (SSG or MSG)
usually theres alot of part a cadets (abt 20 + ba at least)
all the level goes up, the manpower goes down
lets say part a 20, part b 15, part c 10, part d 5, part e 3
total unit size is more than 20 !
sec 1 kids are really cute wor !

I take particular offence at your generalisation that RPs are blind. I happen to rate my RPs and my fellow specs who do sentry and guard comd duty with me quite highly. from your post, i interpreted it as your RPs took a NCC cadet as a soldier, but found out they werent. no, "they are blind" is not true, definitely. else they would not be able to tell at all.

NCC is not SAF. if a NCC Cadet LT says to salute him.. personally, i'd point the international sign of friendship and say something that includes expletives to him. -
to any ncc cadet inspector: yes, u hv that "ncc officer" rank. but always be humble. we r ur bigger brothers.
anyway, got saf book says must give face to them, but heck... now even nsf privates are addressed as "sir". was told by their secondary school teachers. covered a ncc orienteering event once, form of respect to the real soldiers who took the oath of allegience. -
No, Even a NCC CLT, is lower den a NS recruit.
U can ask them to knock it down if you want, i;m quite sure they will do it. If u have valid reasons. -
the difference is that our ns pledge has WITH OUR LIVES at the back while those si ginahs don't. they will know the meaning of suck thumb, burn weekends and guard duty and the lot

there's a distinction between NCC Officers and NCC Cadet Lieutenants. To the lajiaos here...no offense but if a NSF Recruit/Private, 3SG, 2Lt wanna knock us down...we also LLST. The NCC Officers are those teacher officers or HQ NCC Staff. They are entitled Salutes. While CLTs are entitled the greeting of Sir, but no salute.

From my point of view what is the big deal with the "Singapore" tag. I'm a NSmen in a air force base, last ICT also never tell us to change the name tag, so save my money law...
