That's good and you should keep it up.Originally posted by Moonlighter:Please do not generalise NCC cadets as "ginnahs who play catching on bus terminals". There are only a handful of cadets who bring disgrace to NCC by monkeying in their uniforms in public places. I personally dont believe that no NS-man has ever disgraced his uniform while outside.
Dont think that NCC is for you to play around, it trained me well in terms of physical and mental strength. It was through the strenous training in my unit that i managed to achieve 30-points in my napfa this year.
Be fair lah, I know one or two who are quite humble.Originally posted by tchiew:Thanks for the joke
I was attached to NCC schools for some of their proficiency test ... what can i say i have my fair share of childish behaviour, including Cadet Lts. There's nothing wrong with that as kids are just kids ...
For pete's sake dun come here and talk big.
i fool ard in my uniform last time during ns...but not to the extent of NCC kids...Originally posted by Moonlighter:Please do not generalise NCC cadets as "ginnahs who play catching on bus terminals". u call them NCC cadetsOriginally posted by chanjyj:you may be correct, but somehow I think they are the majority rather than the miniority. My reasoning is rather simple. I usually see one whole bunch o NCC recruits (you call them recruits or what?) hanging around shopping malls.
If they can hang around in a bunch of 10+ people, then isn't this about half the sixe of a normal NCC platoon (you call them platoon or what?) in the school where they come from?
Please correct me if I am wrong. I have assumed that a normal NCC unit in a normal secondary sch will consist of 20 odd teenagers.

First time i heard "Singapura tag" must earn 1 lei. LOLOriginally posted by UnheardUnknown:Let them wear Spore tag for what?!?!?! Let them show off meh. Come on leh NCC not SAF. By letting them wear issnt it tantamount to insulting our SAF men who really earn their "SINGAPORE' tag? Let NCC wear make their head swell bigger only lor...
they do. but the NCC lettering is in black, from far cannot see.Originally posted by Moonlighter:I thought NCC cadets already have the NCC eppulettes to differentiate themselves from NS men, so shouldn't be a problem right?
u think a 40 something 50 something auntie/uncle know how to differentiate meh?Originally posted by Moonlighter:I thought NCC cadets already have the NCC eppulettes to differentiate themselves from NS men, so shouldn't be a problem right?
My RPs had a problem differentiating them even in sunlight. What do you think?Originally posted by Moonlighter:I thought NCC cadets already have the NCC eppulettes to differentiate themselves from NS men, so shouldn't be a problem right?
NS men only? lets get this straight. its REAL SAF soldiers, which includes NSF, Regulars, and NS men.Originally posted by Moonlighter:I thought NCC cadets already have the NCC eppulettes to differentiate themselves from NS men, so shouldn't be a problem right?
thats because they are RPs. if one looks closely at the shoulder, one would spot it easily that they are wearing epaulettes coz its a lil thicker there.Originally posted by LazerLordz:My RPs had a problem differentiating them even in sunlight. What do you think?

if the naming still exist
sec 1 kids = part a (recruits and LCP after gg thru camp)
sec 2 kids = part b (CPL after gg thru camp etc etc)
sec 3 kids = part c (2SG after gg thru course, 3SG if u fail/nv go course)
sec 4 kids = part d (SSG after gg thru UDI course etc etc, left-overs either 2SG or 1SG)
sec 5 kids = part e (SSG or MSG)
usually theres alot of part a cadets (abt 20 + ba at least)
all the level goes up, the manpower goes down
lets say part a 20, part b 15, part c 10, part d 5, part e 3
total unit size is more than 20 !
sec 1 kids are really cute wor !
I take particular offence at your generalisation that RPs are blind. I happen to rate my RPs and my fellow specs who do sentry and guard comd duty with me quite highly. Some of them are shooting contingent marksmen.Originally posted by Ristar:thats because they are RPs. if one looks closely at the shoulder, one would spot it easily that they are wearing epaulettes coz its a lil thicker there.

Okay lah. Then let's assume total 50 [b]cadets this time.. so for every 50 cadets there are 10 fooling around, so... 20% are fooling around?
It's like saying 20% of the company staff don't come to work

alright. touched a sensitive spot, din i? sorry about that. serious.Originally posted by LazerLordz:I take particular offence at your generalisation that RPs are blind. So it's no floozy to say that it's not easily spotted at first glance. You should leave your bravado at the door and not incite a flame war over this issue with the NCC kid as well.
r u sure or not...Originally posted by martin_lim85:are we suppose to salute ncc officer? cos i dun, once i saw an nsf did it but i dun know is right or wrong
CLTs are still ranked below any SAF soldier.Originally posted by SpecOps87:there's a distinction between NCC Officers and NCC Cadet Lieutenants. To the lajiaos here...no offense but if a NSF Recruit/Private, 3SG, 2Lt wanna knock us down...we also LLST. The NCC Officers are those teacher officers or HQ NCC Staff. They are entitled Salutes. While CLTs are entitled the greeting of Sir, but no salute.
That should be the way. We need to maintain a basic standard of regimentation.Originally posted by eac:to any ncc cadet inspector: yes, u hv that "ncc officer" rank. but always be humble. we r ur bigger brothers.
anyway, got saf book says must give face to them, but heck... now even nsf privates are addressed as "sir". was told by their secondary school teachers. covered a ncc orienteering event once, form of respect to the real soldiers who took the oath of allegience.
