Have you served? If not, everything is hearsay and 2ndhand information.
Go through NS first, then consider it during your last 6 months. If you want to sign on just to ensure you serve your NS term in the RSAF or RSN, then in the long term, you won't enjoy it very well.
Don't forget you're signing on as a WOSE. -
