well until the cause and facts are establish it is hard to make the judgement. At least the pilot did not bale out.Originally posted by Icemoon:The pilots were in partial control of the plane. They chose to crash onto the camp site to avoid killing the taiwanese crowd elsewhere?
All right .. they avoided a PR nightmare. They probably saved millions of dollars 'cos there is no need to compensate their own citizens. In comparison, paying for our 2 dead soldiers is peanuts to them.
The only way i can think of for any claims on this incident is to have the family members and injuried personnel to engage an attorney to file a wrongfull dead and injury against the department of defence in Taiwan. The entire system will be in the Taiwan judicial system. To especially deal with the chinese both PRC or ROC you have to go all the way or they don't respect our sovern because we are too small.Originally posted by LazerLordz:We are not operating under their command. Training detachments are training detachments.
We are officially there, just that it wasn't publicly acknowledged. You think we can just train in Taiwan without an MOU or a Status-Of-Forces agreement? Nah.
Who cares if their exercise is related to deterring any PLA aggression? They made a mistake, they should jolly well show some balls.
