  Some clerks need the rank if they deal a lot with DIV HQ. Or are in charge of NS BNs.

  u mean a CPL rank would not suffice?
  or is the CFC rank to show a recognition of the amt of work they have/ paramount importance of the job

  I'm the first batch of techies to be a non tech spec. Now my unit face a lot of problems like not enough guard 3IC, Veh comd, difficult to command Veh Comd and so on. Now even have CFC, but it is mainly a consolation i guess. I guess SAF will someday revive the old system after it realise the huge problems that techies face without the 3SG rank.

  Go and fire the damned chap who suggested these "consolidations". He's supposed to have it a long time coming.
  
  CFC is a good idea, but removing the 3SG rank from Tech Spec vocations is a BIG MISTAKE. One day they will understand what is the impact of that in a cyclical downstream .

  as already mentioned in the pages of this thread, CFC are for Technician voactions. other than that will depends on whether your unit wants to promote u or not.

  1) CFC: $580
  
  2) 3SG: $780

  I heard CQMS and TPT SUP are still 3SG and above estab. However, is your unit armourer still a 3SG (assuming he's a diploma or JC grad) ?

  Promotion criteria for CPL until the two year is diploma or A level. CFC promotion cirteria is degree?

  I understand that servicemen those went to other countries to study first n later come back to serve fulll time NS will end up become third sergeant.
