seems to be some new stupid directive from higher up, nope i am damn sure it is one of a leadership enhancedOriginally posted by SingaporeTyrannosaur:So slack meh? I was an instructor there just last year and we didn't given them such an easy time leh.
Rundown still 700 meter leh... you sure you not see some weird PES Z company?
I can't get by a day without shouting either at least 10 times.Originally posted by Fatum:maybe all the CCB , KNN etc have already entered the daily singaporean lexicon and are no longer considered vulgarities ? .....
totally man...Originally posted by jianfish9:Why is everyone so worried about what they think will be a weak army? If you are so duly worried do go sign on.
Are we just unhappy that we have to go through so much crap but the newer batch are having it much easier and think its unfair. If I am one of the new recruits going in I will be really pissed with people complaining its so slack now. Its not like they have any choice and in fact I do feel happier for them.
Anyway, they ought to abolish the annual IPPT. Its hell. Now that I think about it, my back is a little pain and I think I should go and see a specialist.
the reason the sgts using Fark word and harsh punishment is to drill the message RIGHT DEEP into ur mind that u have done something wrong and do NOT do it again. The mistake mayb life threatening.Originally posted by jianfish9:Lol. What a joke and I don't mean the slack training. People that have not enlisted saying that it is too slack for them. I rather reserve judgment till I have been there done that.
I am quite happy that the standards are more reasonable now. What is the point of vulgarities other than for the sake of shouting something crude? Most people go in clean and come out with a mouthful of vulgarities.
Thank god I am slowly acclimatising back to Civilian life and cutting down on the vulgarities. I have many friends who before NS have never or rarely used vulgarities but once inside they start to spout them.
Is using vulgarities a sign of how tough and macho you are? No thanks, I don't want my son going in to learn all these things and if I must complain to do so, I will.
If everyone is oh so worried about how the army is not right and they are producing a bunch of sissies not capable to protecting us then they ought to go there and sign on for life and put their words into action. And I don't mean signing on to drink kopi in mess and start shoving all their work onto NSF and then threatening to charge them to keep them in line.
P.S. I hate it when people start complaining that NS so slack, bmt so slack. Unless you are one that have not complained during NS it is very hypocritical. Its not like its all fun and games there or some sort of Holiday camp.
toally agree if u feel NS too slack then go sign on lor, go fark other ppl like no ones business, go show off yr chocolate bars, rooftops and crabs lor, go waste yr life there lor... ..Originally posted by jianfish9:Why is everyone so worried about what they think will be a weak army? from what i see now, bmt has evolved through the years to become more reasonable, not more slack like what alot of people say.
it is to make u remember certain things tat u have done wrong and not to repeat the mistake. refer to my previous post for example...Originally posted by borntolive:toally agree if u feel NS too slack then go sign on lor, go fark other ppl like no ones business, go show off yr chocolate bars, rooftops and crabs lor, go waste yr life there lor... ..
i guess these ppl are just finding it unfair and jealous ba. For me i understand the needs of tough phy training so i feel that the training has to be tough but using vulgarites does it help to make us tougher? it just makes us more determined to get out of this farked up organization.
n btw when i enlisted july 06 the soc is still 600-700m leh, field camp is 7 days with trench n shellscrape digging, n specs still fark ppl leh, u sure got change?

do u need to use vulgarities to scold? are u one of those uneducated 1diots who only know how to sprout vulguraties n nothing else. Yes wad the rec done may be wrong but u dont have to use vulgarities to scold. Scolding n punishment is necessary i agree but vulgarities no.Originally posted by RaTtY8l:the reason the sgts using Fark word and harsh punishment is to drill the message RIGHT DEEP into ur mind that u have done something wrong and do NOT do it again. i'll give an example,
some recruit during range pointed the rifle at your son during range. would u want the sgts n officers to say...
i) recruit A, next time do not point the rifle at anyone cos it may misfire and so n so.... = using "soft" tactics.
ii) CCB recruit A WTF u pointing ur rifle at someone. Better wake up ur idea bloddy CCB. Drop 20 for me!! = going by the old "hard" way.

neh mind la! let u off this time!!
erm but for me i forgotten wad mistakes i have made in BMT, but all i can remember from BMT is bloody unreasonable specs.Originally posted by RaTtY8l:it is to make u remember certain things tat u have done wrong and not to repeat the mistake. refer to my previous post for example...
50m on a 70 degree inclined slope.Originally posted by tarutaru:anyway what make SOC tough is always the running not the obstacles crossing. If run downonly 50m then where got tough.
personally i believe to it is necessary to use vulgarities. hove you thought over the example ive had given out? how could some1 grow up if he had not gone throught the worst sh1t. since ur a recruit, u gonna take it. its much much more worse in the working world. the SAF is already a very "protected" environment already.Originally posted by borntolive:do u need to use vulgarities to scold? are u one of those uneducated 1diots who only know how to sprout vulguraties n nothing else. FURTHERMORE, some scold vulgarities out of no reason, there was once in range, we were suppose to fill in out section rank name onto a paper, then someone wrote wrongly in wrong column, n guess wad since i was in front he fark me like no one business with the "want to fight" face. Wad the hell, do u know at that moment i wanted to punch that spec?
the problem is MOST specs sprout vulgarites out of no reason.
i dun think vulgarities are banned, maybe the instructors were only told to use in moderation???Originally posted by RaTtY8l:personally i believe to it is necessary to use vulgarities. hove you thought over the example ive had given out? how could some1 grow up if he had not gone throught the worst sh1t. since ur a recruit, u gonna take it. its much much more worse in the working world. the SAF is already a very "protected" environment already.
and no , im not those idiots who only sprout vulgarities.
for a valid reason they scold vulagrities that i accept it even though i m against the use of vulgarites.Originally posted by RaTtY8l:personally i believe to it is necessary to use vulgarities. hove you thought over the example ive had given out? how could some1 grow up if he had not gone throught the worst sh1t. since ur a recruit, u gonna take it. its much much more worse in the working world. the SAF is already a very "protected" environment already.

That would be me.Originally posted by borntolive:for a valid reason they scold vulagrities that i accept it even though i m against the use of vulgarites.
but sadly almost half of specs i see use vulagarites like no ones business. There was 1 spec i seen whose every sentence got vulgarities
live with it.10 years down the road...another guy will still be posting how slack NS has become compared to his days...and the story will continue.Originally posted by snk86:i don't believe this man
just "sneak" into tekong to find one of my friend who is a PC there today, i am truely amaze at what BMTC has become liao.
commanders are expected to be "nice" to their recruits, aka no F**k and no mentioning of unmentionables organs.
3day outfield with NO TRENCH DIGGING!(WTF WTF WTF), only shellscrape. 3days fibua training(aka no need sleep on ground sheet wth)
SOC rundown only a GRAND 50 FREAKING METERS WTH HOW U EXPECT THAT TO BE CALLED A SOC!!!!!!!
and the best part. if a commander give punishment, he himself must FREAKING DO IT TOO! wah lao!!!!!!
seriously, i am no commander, i am all in for nice welfare treatment, but this is too much lor, really too much. how the fish are they expected to survive command sch or unit this way man!
