Last time my case even more pityful ! I was send oversea, so my company HR did the paper work for me - the damn Mindef also nuts ! go send the exit permit to my company HR instead of give me directly. So blur HR file it up happily.
When I come back, mindef charge me for not return that piece of paper which on it stated that I must return it. Very stupid case, how can they charge me when they send to my company to my HR who keep it , if I never even saw it before how to know or have it to return.
In the end, mindef also too lazy to listen, they just blindly fine me regardless of their own stupid mistake and my company pay for it . -

Overseas Trip Notification
All NSmen below the age of 50 for Officers and 40 for Warrant Officers, Specialists, Other Ranks and Enlistees who are leaving the country for more than 24 hours but less than 6 months are required to notify MINDEF Notification Centre (MNC) / Overseas Notification Centre (ONC) via Notification of Overseas Trips of their country of destination and a contact telephone or a fax number (can be local or overseas) at which they can be contacted or where information of their overseas whereabouts can be obtained during their absence. NSmen with valid Exit Permit and those disrupted need not inform of their overseas trips of more than 24 hours but less than 6 months
With effect from 01 Aug 06, based on recommendation by the Fourth Committee to Recognise the Contribution of Operationally-Ready NSmen to Total Defence (RECORD IV), NSmen who have completed their ORNS Training Cycle and phased into MINDEF Reserve (MR) / SPF or SCDF Reserve are no longer required to notify their overseas trips of less than 6 months. However, they are still required to apply for an Exit Permit for overseas trip duration of 6 months or more.
