Just got the letter.
Offence: For not applying for exit permit.
Date of offence: 02 August 06 to 06 August 06
WTF!!?
Now here is my question, I thought now for nsmen, no need to apply for any exit permit if out of town less than 6 months??
Why I kena?
Can appeal?
$100 can go clubbing you know.... -
i dunno how many times also never inform.... -
if not wrong more den 1 day out of SG nid apply exit permit..
correct me if im wrong

As a NSman, you do not require an Exit Permit if your overseas trip is less than 6 months. However, you are required to notify your unit of your overseas trip through your Notification Centre as follows:

Not notifying the Mindef notification center is a chargeable offence as well.
All I have to say is that you were pretty unlucky to get caught... most people I know don't bother notifying Mindef of their overseas trips.
I suppose all you can do is appeal... but otherwise, I don't see how any of us can help. -

Away from Singapore? Apply for your Exit Permit online. The Enlistment (Exit Permit) Regulations requires all NS liable persons to comply with the exit control regulation for security and mobilisation purposes. The reporting and exit permit requirements may vary in accordance with age, National Service status, duration of trip, purpose of visit and destination.
With effect from 1 Aug 2006, NSmen will not be required to surrender their exit permits upon their return to Singapore.
With effect from 15 Aug 2006, NS liable persons aged 13 years and above will be required to apply for an exit permit to travel overseas. -

if go for more than one day but less than six mths, go apply for notification in the ns website
if more than six, exit permit and other stuff
i kena before, but only letter telling me not to do it again, and it was a very polite letter
u prolly go out of country many times without notifying? -
next time, if you are going overseas for one day or 5 days
just apply for exit permit lor
