firefighter and policeman straight serve their bmt at the training school for their bmt. no need to go tekong for army bmt.
only a handful from the leadership batches from tekong bmt are to be nspi (police inspector nsf) are selected from the tekong bmt. -

For PTP... still got chance go SISPEC or OCS? PTP can book out? or confine for the entire time? you get reshuffled afer PTP or stay with your bros in PTP?

Since you wear specs, always good to bring a spare pair - no need to be expensive optician specs, even the cheap ready made ones can (even the $10 pasar malam kind, as long as you can see somewhat ok). You don't want to lose or break your specs (with all the double here double there, pt, field camp etc it is quite possible to do so) and then spend the rest of the week "blind". BMT is tough enough already when you can see properly! Also, with your specs, they will fall off easily when you are sweaty and have to do push-ups. To stop this, either get a string to tie the "ears" together, or you can buy plastic "ear hooks" (usually opticians will have) that extend the ear piece to hook around your ear more securely. Also as far as I know you can wear whatever underwear you like (men's underwear only ok!!). The most important thing is that it is comfortable even when you sweat a LOT, and that it is not visible when you wear your black shorts. Some fellows in my section also preferred to wear no underwear, but I recommend that you don't do that. Your sgts are very unlikely to do "stand by underwear"... if they like to do that then I think you have other things to worry about... -
i'm enlisting on jan 25th next year! school 2. i'm down for 7 weeks modified bmt... i'm currently c9l9 what should i expect?

A spectacle retainer is a required item for all wearing specs for BCCT so whether you like to use it or not, you will have to get it. btw the list got say goggles needed, i dont have need to buy mah? btw i wear specs and i dont think getting a degree goggles is feasible~

Goggles only for the swimming test and lessons if you fail the test. Its 1 lap using breast stroke. It depends on how bad is your eyesight. As long as you can still see without your glasses then its ok especially if you need to take the swimming lessons as its not easy to do what is required sometimes if you can't see what they are demostrating. -

wat is PT training vest and shirt utility grey they will be issuing only 2 each..??
which one is the admin u all saying?? meaning theywill only issue 2 admin only??

Still grey admin? I thought all has been replaced with the new brown t-shirt already. Last i went emart, they no longer sell the grey admin but starting to sell the brown 1s.

Hey if i've to go for PTP, my confinement is done in PTP or done during BMT or confine 2 times? How long is the confinement ar? And you have to go SISPEC b4 you can get to OCS? How to increase your chance of getting in there? How much fitter you guys become after BMT (like increase in number of pull-ups you can do. run like as fast as the wind, etc). wats the hardest part about BMT? Is there a lot of free time(will get bored)?

You can enter OCS directly if your performance is outstanding if not there is a small chance of being transfer to OCS after 3 months in SISPEC. To increase your chances i guess you just have to be more proactive and exhibit your leadership ability. SIT Test will be the best time to show your leadership etc i would think.
How fit a person becomes will depend partly on how hard he is willing to train. I have many friends who went into PTP without passing napfa and by POP, quite few went up to silver and even a few gold.
Whats the hardest part about BMT is hard to say since it differs with everyone, due to their individual strengths and weaknesses. The more xiong things should be last few route marches, SOC, field camp etc.
Most of the time should be spent on training except when its CAT 1 and training is cancelled. First 2 weeks is alot of boring lectures and stuff and after that your days are filled with mostly physical training and army training stuff. The most free time you will get is maybe the week before POP or so when almost all the trainings are completed and there is nothing much else left to do. I remember we sometimes even have the whole day to sleep in bunk. -

It is said that once you write anything else on the medical questionaire other than ur signature and date,and your parent's signature,you have a 40% chance of going PES C and 55% chance of PES E
hence I've a few questions:
1)when do PES E guys enter NS? (general trend)
2)after the BMT period,for servicement of most PES ,there's POP,to some fanfare. is it true that PES E ppl,after their 5 days,are quietly sent away to their respective vocational training,without POP or the works? and are promptly forgotten after 2 years?
3)I've 6 months probation,and I'm quite eager to promote to at least PES C. I pity those permanent PES E people who don't get to enjoy the camaderie of NS life,however hard it seems. just behave and act normal?
4)since PES E exempt from virtually all physical activity,and of course NAPFA,does that mean I can't do NAPFA exercises,like practising my pull ups and sit ups and stuff-even to keep fit long after the 5 day induction course?
5)just a question. if PES F ppl dun need serve NS,it means they will never see the interior of a camp at all,let alone tekong?
and to conclude,this is a thought to set you all thinking:
In an unpredictable world, third world war might actually flare up without warning,a strong defence force is important in deterring foreign invasion.
But as PES E i feel as if I take my country's defence for granted. as if the combat fit guys will always be there to protect SIngapore in case of crisis. I feel as if I can't protect myself let alone the country,and I feel for those who can't help at all in defending Singapore from hostile forces...
I wonder how can a PES E defend himself and his family in case of crisis,before the untenable situation in Singapore warrants emigration to somewhere relatively safer from warfare (yet remain prone to right wing backlash)[/u]
my frenz wrote on the paper more than once , pes B .
what i heard is proven cases of suicide like police report or ur mental evaluation report , it 's PES E for 6 months .
asperger syndrome is like a milder form of autism .
maybe u go to pes C1 after 6 months .
r u assigned a shrink and consuellor .
some mental patients nt assigned shrink and consuellor . -

On a side note, i know of some people who purpose fail swimming just so they have the chance to go for swimming lessons and 'relax' in the pool especially during hot weather as once you pass, thats the last time you will see of the tekong pool.
