This forum used to be very informative, I learned a lot, even from the non Christians who posted here. It was a place for Christians to discuss and shares, non Christians came here with questions and queries, many with very strong personal opinion, but most respected this as a Christians forum, and more importantly, they respected God whom they do not accept, it is like going to somebody's house you respect his father even though he is not your father.
This is a jungle now.

In other threads,
I have also asked you nicely to
1. Provide evidence for the miracles in the bible
But you have not answered me. Perhaps, the forum is less informative now because christianslike you do not know how to answer our questions?
Please note that while I ask you to provide evidence for the miracles, I am really asking a sincere question.
I keep my mind open. I dont ask a question and in my mind think "hahah I am gonna trap sgdiehard".
So please, if you wan to keep this forum informative, try to answer me and stop blaming others for causing the forum to be not informative
Thanks.

My christian frens say that faith is not about having all the right answers....they emphasize on faith more than on facts....they say questions are for religion....not faith...I dunno what they mean....

Yea agreed.
My christian friends also told me faith is more impportant than facts.

but if we attribute all the mystery to god... and then all the qns which they dun not have answers to "faith is more impt than facts" isn't it like a self delusion?
Maybe they can do that....but for me, I like to have answers.......Hahaha!

I guess it's quite convenient.
i supposed it would be better to say "im not sure of the answer" or simply"i dunno the answer"

Thats true.
When the religious people ask me if any scientists know about the origins of the big bang, I say no one really knows.
It's a fact that no one really knows and it's ok to not know.
But some people have a problem with not knowing. I wonder why. Could it be pride?
So what's the Christian perspective on the "missing" years or un-documented years of Jesus Christ ? Did he really went to India ?

no, your mind is not open, if your Christians friends tell you that faith is more important than facts, do you accept what he said?
What is miracle? it is something that we cannot explain with existing knowledge, and Christians believe that is the power of God, do you accept the answer, even if you don't accept that reasoning?
You may not be happy is whatever made others happy, you cannot deny the fact that others are happy.

sgdiehard.
1. You like to assume things. you are not a psychic so you wont know if my mind is not open or not.
2. So basically, you are saying that there is no evidence for the miracles because you cannot explain it. Ok so I thank you for your answer. At least you answered!
3. Since you already answered me about christian miracles "surpassing" all human knowledge. Can I also ask what is your opinion on hindu miracles, muslim miracles and buddhist miracles?
Thank you in advance and I hope we continue to engage. I hope you wont stop answering my questions and think that I am "trolling" or what.
As long as you answer and I know your opinion, I will acknowledge it but I might not accept it.
Dont assume every nonchristian who questions is a troll cos' I am not.

you know what you know, you don't know what you don't know.
Actually it was said that Jesus went to China, where he taught the Chinese what is righteousness, 義,it is a lamb covering me, indicating that we are made righteous because of the sacrifice of the lamb, Jesus, on the cross, so the word 義 should be written with the word lamb 羔 on top of the word me, 我.
He also taught them the story of Noah, so the word ship, 船,should be writen as a boat, 舟, with 8 persons, Noah's family of 8, 八. That is how the word 船 is written.

My christian frens say not likely....but they say its not important....the important thing is he will save many people, even if he's been to India....He is still considered as a saviour to all human....that's what I hear from my christian frens....

2. Refutes all our statements without credible evidence
3. Throws in a lot of christian jargon, as if everyone's christian here and as if the bible is applicable to everyone.
4. Makes alot of baseless statements
5. Accuses others of logical fallacies but commits 2 fallacies - confirmation bias and special pleading
6. Uses only religious sources
Point 2 is his major fault so far as i see
He will frustrate the debate with you, me or RA etc, then quickly pronounce others are here to trolls/pride/ego etc
then u get monkeys like badzmaro jumping into the bandwagon

When discussing with BIC, I look at both christian and non-christian sources and even agree to some of his points.
But BIC chooses only christian religious sources and insists he is being more objective than me.
I dont expect him to agree with me. BuT I do expect that if we want an intellectual discussion, we should look at more sources instead of committing the error of confirmation bias by looking at what we want to look at only.
Tcmc,
Why don't you actually interact with the contents of the article instead of whining about the Christian nature of my sources? Time and again you commit the genetic fallacy when you complain about my Christian sources.

It's something new to you because you probably are not aware of the Christian roots of modern science. Again SECULAR sources are available for you to read up on this. I even quoted Loren Eisley, a non-Christian, who relunctantly credit the Christian worldview for being the impetus for modern science. It's a historical fact, the earlier you concede that the less you have the mistake of thinking that science and the Bible are in perpetual conflict.

You don't need a psychic to tell you that you have a closed mind, and I say this with regards to your mindset on Christianity. I don't assume, I read from what the discussions here.
If I cannot explain, it can be due to my limited knowledge on the subject matter, it may not be a miracle. It is something that cannot be explained with all human knowledge and wisdom, and happened with a purpose to review or glorify God that we Christians believe.
What you think you can explain is not necessary evidence to what have happened. We cannot assume that we know everything.
If you want to know about Muslim miracles, Buddhist miracles, Hindu miracles, Taoist miracles, go ask them, but you first must respect what they believe, or else you will not have any answers, it doesn't mean they do not give you an answer.

1. sgdiehard, I have learned this 義 and 船 when I was a christian. But I also ask myself now whether all these are coincidences. Because in the chinese written language, there are thousands and thousands of words. So actually we can derive a lot of things from these thousands of words. So for example for this word 義 , the muslims can also derive it as the goat that Abraham sacrificed in place of Ishmael. For 船 the å‡ is not å…«. It's different, if we want to be specific.

My social Studies teacher back in secondary school.. and my uni lecturer has been telling me that if the source itself is unreliable, the content itself will be unreliable. So you are asking TCMC to interact with unreliable content?

1. Which parts of my discussions led you to believe that I have a closed mind? If you can, please show me
2. Yes I acknowledged that you say that there is currently no evidence for miracles because miracles 'are supposed to be' beyond human comprehension.
3. For muslim miracles and hindu miracles, I just want your opinion? I mean I would love to ask them if I could, but since we are on the topic of miracles, I thought it would be relevant to ask you because you do believe in a "supernatural world". Do you think their miracles are also powerful and a testimony for their respective God?

I have no problem with religious sources, if they are sound.
But what BIC is doing wrongly is to quote all his sources from religious websites and books and insists he's being objective.
It's wrong. The correct method is to quote from both religious and nonreligious.
Thats what I do too. E.g, When i look up the age of the dead sea scrolls, i look at both religious and nonreligious sources.
