I am confused. I am thinking of believing again.

I suggest you lay of Christianity for a while, explore other religions and then decide which religion you are agreeable with. Why are you limiting yourself to Christianity only? Don't you know other religions exist?
You need to have a greater understanding of all the belief that are around in the world. Then you will know what people are up to in the name of religion.
BTW what is your age?
The speaking in tongue, are people in a trance, similar to the Taoist tankee. Some are really in a trance, some just fake it. What they speak is incomprehensible, and is usually interpreted. The intrepretation is again usually to impress people with mystic wonder.
Therefore it is better to be carefull which group you meet up with. You have to judge for yourself. You ask a cult member, he will tell you his religion is the truest one, you ask a anarchist, he will tell you his religion is the correct one, you ask an athiest, he will tell you there is no god, so it is natural that when you go to a church that practices "speaking in tongues", they will tell you that it is divine.
Like I have said before, if ask at the wrong place, to the wrong people, you will get the wrong answers, and form the wrong opinion.
Tell me who would you like to believe? Who is that person?
There is no one but yourself. So go do your research. Don't be lazy !
I am sooooo confused. Mancha you didn't really help. Why do they interpret the bible different? If the bible is god's word, they should believe in the same thing right?
Every religion has its different interpretation of the same precepts.
The Tibetians, ( I think ) has a saying, "A thousand monks, a thousand religion."
That means that although all read and study the same thing, each and every individual understand it not in exactly the same way.

So why the differences? Is the Christian God telling them different things?Who is correct and who is wrong?
Curiouss?
oh I know who are you already
That boy who always change religion, as though change shoes every few days
The challenge for you is to find out; "Who is correct and who is wrong."
Do want believe me, or from LKY, or someone "speaking in tongues", or anyone else for that matter.
Since you keep harping on the Christian God, may I suggest you go to a Methodist or Lutheran Church and listen to them, and when you have questions ask their reverend there. These two churches it seems are different from the orthodox Christians that you are complaining about. They protested against staunch Christainity.
mancha, you said "The challenge for you is to find out; "Who is correct and who is wrong.""
What I find out as "correct" might not be correct. So how to determine?
I think your premise presents a false dichotomy. Perhaps both of them are wrong, be it those who insist in speaking in tongues and those who insist against it. For one to accept your premise, you must first demonstrate the existence of a God.
I'm much more inclined to side with the Agnostics, who are at least able to say "We don't know!"

I was just questioning how christians know that they are correct when compared to other christians who teach different things.
I wanna learn more.
