Sure there are those who reject God, but that should not be confused with refuting the arguments for God. And you have for the umpteenth time failed to substantiate your polemical assaults on the Bible.
BIC,
It's amazing how you choose to believe in the jewish creation story, (with all the magical stuff) but then refuse to believe other creations stories in hinduism, taoism, greek religion, islam etc.
Why is a talking serpent and wonder fruit more convincing the Jade Emperor, story of Ne Zha and Hercules?

I am not surprised. you know how their beliefs works despite the flaws and illogic that comes with it. they will continue to defend their beliefs no matter how illogical and irrational it is, because in their perception, only their religion is true and all others are false and satanic and that we are going to hell. this is just naivety and deluded isnt it.

The best way to argue with a christian is to own belief patterns against them.
And because all religions work the same way, the best way is to use religion comparison to argue with them.
You will see them accepting their own religion and rejecting other religions when both basically work the same way, just because of personal bias!

Can you help me differentiate?
Because to me, a talking serpent, magic fruit is as convincing as Ne Zha and the Monkey God coming out of a stone.

TCMC,
out of curiosity, why did you stop believing in Christianity? How long were you a Christian/been going to church?

Of course the christians don't believe what you said of other religions in the above post la. They are brainwashed to believe and accept other religions are satanic and their God is the one and only true God.
Wahahahahahhaah, hallelujah, I have woken up!

Why is it that you focus your energies on attacking Christianity but not other religions? Christianity easier to bash because you do not expect any backlash? Christianity should be loving and not rebuke you or refute you? Christianity should offer the other cheek and be doormat and let you run roughshed over and stomped all over?

Yes, it is a good strategy to use one belief patterns against him. Funny thing is, when I used yours against yours you simply "teh gong".
For example, if there is no God, then the only explanation for the cause of the universe is that it made itself. But how is this possible? Don't say I never ask you this before hor!

Can you explain WHY if I believe in the Bible's account of creation it means I also have to believe all other creation accounts found in other religions? What's the rationale? I will help you differentiate if you can first justify your assumption that the Bible is not any different from any other religious book and must be placed on equal footing or validity.

Hi AOD
Because of the bible's stuff. I was very devoted though, for ten years. i started reading the bible two years back, THOROUGHLY and OBJECTIVELY. Then i found out a lot of weird stuff. So it was very hard for me to leave and stop believing, but I did.
:)

I believe I have told you before why we question chrsitianity more.
Stop going in circles.
I have told you that because christians make more claims than other religions and also try to push these claims and beliefs as universal facts to everyone.
Of course there will be a reaction for ppl to question christianity more.
Stop going back in circles, please. And remember what i have told you.

OMG. I nv said you have to believe in the other creation stories.
I AM ASKING YOU why you choose to believe in the jewish one and NOT the others? Whats your rationale?
Instead of answering me, you avoid the question!

I started when I was 9..cos I had to go.
I read the bible (kid version, the type that's like a docu with lotsa pics) as my bedtime story book.. Never actually read the usual bible you see a Christian carry around.
See, even as a kid I read it as a fiction book...says something about its believability eh?
But how come during that first 8 years you didn't read the bible? I was cajoled to read it every day for Quiet Time, and my cell group leaders used to call me every Friday to talk for HOURS about god and the necessity of spending quiet time.
Even prayed over the phone. >.>

his rationale is that 'there is only one God'. but EVERY religion says that, how to know which one is the right God?
and what if, all the Gods of each and every religion is the same one, and yet people separate him/her into Christian God, Jewish God, Taoist God...food for thought.
Anyway, out of tangent, just being ridiculous

Journey to the West is more of a depiction of ascension to true greatness... You are welcomed.

Dude, you no longer belong to the category of the sincere person who seeks answers to sincere questions. You have already decided that Christianity is false. Right now you are just throwing questions (not really wanting to hear the answers) just to justify your rejection of Christianity. Everyone is also making claims here, atheists included. Please spare the crap of Christians pushing these claims to everyone. The Bible does not teach that we are to compel people to believe, and even if some Christians do that it is not because they are acting consistently with the Bible's teachings. And it is not about who make more claims, it is about whether the claims are true.

Because the Bible makes more sense. Happy with my answer? I guess not. The only answer you are seeking from me is "Yeah, the Bible is a human invention and Christianity is a sham. I want to give up my Christianity just like you."

Nope, it says something about being a kid.

Are you saying that with all the competing truth claims out there, that it is impossible to know the truth, or is it just intellectual laziness at work?
You need to add more ingredients into your dish. Explain why you think that the gods of each and every religion is the same, and why we should believe that as well.

INTELLECTUAL LAZINESS??!
It IS impossible to know the truth. But that doesn't mean I am intellectually-lazy. Tbh, a lot of Christians do not like it when science is used to disprove the existence of god, or if science is used to prove that religiousness is purely a mental construct that has no real basis of truth.
But science is what makes the world go round. You and I and everyone else lives with science. We have computers, laptops etc thanks to science.
If science disproves the existence of god and proves that religiousness is purely a mental construct, why don't you believe it?
No. I do not need to explain why I think the gods of each and every religion is the same. I don't belief that, because I have no proof. I will not believe in something that has no proof. I was merely stating that it is food for thought, it COULD BE a possibility.

Kids are more gullible than adults. Their brains can be conditioned to believe something that isn't true, or to disbelieve the truth.
I was given the bible and told constantly to "Read it. It's the truth of God." and yet I didn't believe it.
There's something that I need to point out :
Almost all of the world's leading scientists and top brainiacs are atheists/agnostics. Anything more needs to be said about this?
Carl Sagan (1934–1996): American astronomer and astrochemist
Ivan Pavlov (1849–1936): Nobel Prize winning Russian physiologist, psychologist, and physician
Alfred Nobel (1833–1896): Swedish chemist, engineer, innovator, and armaments manufacturer
Thomas Edison: American inventor
Richard Dawkins (1941–): British zoologist, biologist, creator of the concepts of the selfish gene and the meme
Stephen Hawking (1942–): arguably the world's pre-eminent scientist advocates atheism in The Grand Design
James D. Watson (1928–): 1962-Nobel-laureate and co-discover of the structure of DNA
Alexander Graham Bell (1847–1922), Eminent scientist, inventor, engineer and innovator who is credited with inventing the first practical telephone
Sir David Attenborough (born 1926), English natural history presenter and anthropologist
Francis Crick (1916–2004), Nobel-laureate co-discoverer of the structure of DNA
Marie Curie (1867–1934), Polish-French physicist and chemist
Charles Darwin (1809–1882), founder of the theory of evolution by natural selection
Neil deGrasse Tyson (born 1958), American astrophysicist, science communicator
