an ex christian is different from a non christian. an ex christian had once pronounced that he was a christian, a non christian never. if you stop believing in the christian God, leave Him and his believers alone, don't have to be bitter about it.
Nothing personal, from the various posts I read, I don't see the sincerity to learn more about what Christians beliefs with respect for what we believe. I apologize if you are hurt for sincerely wanting to learn about Christianity. Suggest you go back to your pastors, or find a new pastor to have your question on christianity clarified. If not, let the Christians give whatever money they want to the church, believe what they want to believe.

The IMPORTANT issue is christians should STOP using the 10% verse in Genesis because many verses in the bible are already not applicable today.
Most or all churches do quote the bible on the 10% verse- as a guide.
But TS said his pastor insisted on a non-negotiable 10% and promised 10 times in return for it.
His church has gone well beyond quoting the 10% verse as a guide. It is a separate issue and the church should be named, just like any church that exerts peer pressure or asks for exceptionally large amounts.
