Instead, just politely refuse and use this opportunity to explain to them your relationship with God, a God who wishes to have a personal relationship with all mankind irrespective of his religion.
In a sense, the partaking of food for idols is not forbidden, as long as we spread the love of Jesus in the process. Of course, I'm not saying that you can now set up an Altar and start eating offering food to Idols and eating it as well:P That's just wrong lol!
Ironically, you saying that God wish to have a personal relationship with all mankind regardless of his/her religion yet you would spread the gospel of Jesus.
In the end, you still feel Christianity is "superior" cause you want to preach the gospel of Jesus to non-believers.
Originally posted by Servant:Completely agree. It is the intention of the eating that is more important, especially if respect and unity results from the action. Similarily, it is also possible to eat so-called 'permitted' food and think of all the wrong things right? We can't bluff God
What about forbidden food for Abrahamic religions' followers like pork?

What did Yeshua do on Shabbat that was prohibited? Nothing.
The two "commandments" by Yeshua as you put them are just a summation of the 10 Mitzvot that are written in the Tenakh.
A problem with man's limited and/or flawed understanding of the original intention of Yahweh?

different people different reason....
for me, even before accepting Christ, I already don't eat offered food... hygiene reason.... imagine this, with all the ashes and smoke on them, not to mention inserts that could have visited them ..etc... you want to risk food posioning?

i can understand if it is for hygiene reason. anyway fruits are clean and food offerings at home are also clean unless your house is really dirty and full of flies.

:-) clue: none of my family members including my parents eat them (since the days of my grandparents)

These don't apply to Christians anymore due to Christ's sacrifice for all of us (Acts 10:10-15) :
But he became hungry and was desiring to eat; but while they were making preparations, he fell into a trance; and he saw the sky opened up, and an object like a great sheet coming down, lowered by four corners to the ground, and there were in it all kinds of four-footed animals and crawling creatures of the earth and birds of the air.
A voice came to him, "Get up, Peter, kill and eat!" But Peter said, "By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything unholy and unclean." Again a voice came to him a second time, "What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy."
I'm not not sure about Judaism though, food restrictions may still apply for them.

Actually, you've hit it right on the nail (the first part at least)
There are many Christians out there (eg Catholics) who believe that as children of God, all mankind have the capacity to know and experience God in their own ways and according to their own understanding, which may not always be the way that we Christians understand it.
Christ died for all, not just a select 'club' of people.
Yes I also say bb to my past idols. Other religion books and stuff. All bb. Destroyed.
Break off the bonds to other religion. As long it belongs to me,I would destroy it.
Not only idol offering past religious stuff must say bb too. Even other religion mp3 files I deleted.

If I die, I can say I die for all the people in the whole world, I die for their sins. Does it make me a saviour
I'll tell you after you die

i notice older generations have altars, though dusty and dirty but they live up to ripe old age. nowadays, younger generations, regardless of religions, most of them do not have altar at home and do not live as long as them.

Sure, if you truly died for them

No. Having altars and praying at home doesnt mean ripe old age. I call it paying respects to the dead/ancestors. Yin sui xi yuan.

anyone can say they die for the world, die for their sins.

Yet Acts 10:10 - 15 wasn't about food nor that due to Jesus sacrifice, all food restrictions were lifted or override.
Acts 10:28-29
And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean. Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?
Are there other sentences that talks about the pork being declared clean for Abrahamic religions' followers? Like maybe Jesus said something or override it?

Indeed some taoists i know died at age 50 , 40 also have. Having an altar does not mean ripe old age.
