Hi! I am a vegetarian.I haven't been baptised yet.The reason being I am under a bondage of paganism. My parents object my baptism and so my baptism is delayed. They views baptism an unfilial act. What to do?
all along i thought you are a staunch christian. what is your parent's religion ? being a vegetarian is good for your health.
i know why your parents feel that way because other religion do not preach god is above parents but christianity preach god is above parents. sometimes, can't blame them.

Then don't baptise yet loh...., Physical baptism though important to some (also easier to work with other more traditional christian organisation if next time want to do mission work), is not as important as the baptism of the heart (which you had already done so by the Holy Spirit when you received Christ as your saviour).
As for your parents objecting you going through Physical baptism, then respect their wishes lah, your parents right? do just keep praying for them (pray to God only, don't try to pressure your parents). Maybe one day they will change their mind (I waited almost three years for my parents' consent).

What on earth does being a vegetarian have to do with religion?!
Slap yourself if you think vegetarian = pagan rituals or whatever you call it.
Agree with Vince. It is the baptism of the heart which is more important. Baptism ceremony is meant for human eyes but God's eyes sees your heart. It is not the outward actions that matters.
As a personal opinion, I also encourage vegetarianism because generally it is more healthy & not everyone has that type of discipline.
I have Christian friends who asked me whether they should go for Tomb Sweeping during Ching Ming & whether if they should eat those altar food. My answer is "Go Ahead", It is the revelation which matters.
Being Christian does'nt mean not being Chinese. We attend Ching Ming because we miss our loved ones. Even if you have to carry joss sticks, the Lord knows that your heart is for Him because this is just a outward action & you do want to create conflict in your family. Even for the altar food, to me it is just food.
It is sad that we often hear stories of people who did not care for their parents when they were still alive but once their parents passed on, they cry their hearts out at the funeral. It is about the Heart my friend. God loves your parents too. If He blesses you, He also blesses your parents & soon your parents will come to see His loveliness & His goodness.
Have you parents seen the phrase "let the dead bury the dead" in the bible? If so, I understand their trepidation
being vegetarian also need to consult bible, haiz.
U want to convert from a pagan religion to another pagan religion?
How weird
