Tommy Soeharto is just beginning his political career. He's still no where now. His late father though ruled a regime of dictatorship for over 3 decades now has since stepped down and passed away.

Megawati fought a bitter political struggle under Soeharto's new order regime as she was the opposition. The new order tried to hijack her party but she cam above it in the end. Her becoming President was worth all her struggle. As for her father the late President Soekarno passed away long before Megawati founded her political party. And she didn't inherit much wealth from her father.<br><br>

To add, there are also full time army officers in parliament, ready to overthrow the gahmen if it does not pander to its wishes
Its a double dictatorship not seen anywhere else in the world. Even Stalin and Hitler (political figures) control the army.
